IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
First Claim
1. An image forming apparatus, comprising:
- a photosensitive member which has a rotatable surface;
image forming means which forms an image on the photosensitive member;
a time measuring device which measures information about a rotation time and information about a stop time, the rotation time being a period of time elapsed from a time when the photosensitive member in a stop state starts rotating, the stop time being a period of time elapsed from a time when the photosensitive member in a rotation state stops rotating;
a temperature and humidity detecting device which detects information about a temperature and humidity of the image forming apparatus;
a fixing device which fixes a toner image transferred to a recording material; and
a controlling device which controls an image forming condition of the image forming means, the controlling device determining the image forming condition for a subsequent image formation based on the information about the rotation time, the information about the stop time, the information about the temperature and humidity, and whether an image formation that precedes the subsequent image formation is performed in a first print mode or a second print mode,wherein the first print mode is a mode in which a transfer is performed only on a recording material that has never passed through the fixing device, and the second print mode is a mode in which a transfer is performed on a recording material including at least a recording material that has passed through the fixing device.

Abstract
An image forming apparatus which predicts VL fluctuations of a photosensitive drum in consideration of a double-sided print mode, and performs an image formation control based on the prediction, and thus always obtains a stable density image. The image forming apparatus performs an appropriate image formation control by controlling an image forming condition based on a photosensitive member rotation time, a photosensitive member stop time, a temperature of an atmospheric environment, an absolute humidity of the atmospheric environment, and whether an image formation that precedes a subsequent image formation is performed in single-sided printing or double-sided printing.
