Abstract

A method whereby dynamic, interactive, two or more dimensional media can be assembled and delivered where the need for pre-packaged binary content files and pre-compiled content is eliminated by using a markup language, a standard URI to identify local and/or remote media resources within a markup text, a standard protocol to retrieve the resource, a parser to load resources from the native format and a markup language to define behavior and where dynamic, interactive, n-dimensional media is achieved by using a markup language, connecting or embedding content into a local or remote data source, dragging-and-dropping markup text into a content provider application, updating content using a form, establishing a two-way connection between content and one or more data sources such that changing to the data source(s) and seeing the results propagate to the scene changing the content and seeing the results propagate to the data source(s) and using a markup language to issue commands, configure interaction, and create behavior.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

parsing a markup language document that points to one or more assets;

for each asset, identifying a corresponding native format and native location for the asset;

directly serving the one or more assets in the one or more assets'"'"' corresponding native formats;

causing the one or more assets to be displayed;

2. The method of claim 1, wherein each of the one or more assets is selected from the group consisting of remote data sources and remote content.

3. The method of claim 1, in which the one or more assets are served to a user.

4. The method of claim 1, in which the one or more assets are served to a local cache.

5. A computer-readable medium bearing instructions to cause one or more computers to:

parse a markup language document that points to one or more assets;

for each asset, identify a corresponding native format and native location for the asset;

directly serve the one or more assets in the corresponding native format;

cause the one or more assets to be displayed.

6. The medium of claim 5, in which the instructions cause the one or more computers to select each of the one or more assets from the group consisting of remote data sources and remote content.

7. The medium of claim 5, in which the instructions cause the one or more computer to serve the one or more assets to a user.

8. The medium of claim 5, in which the instructions cause the one or more computers to serve the one or more assets to a local cache.
