Abstract

A method of performing reception status report in a mobile communication system is disclosed. The method of performing reception status report in a specific protocol layer of a user equipment which receives data transmitted from a base station in a mobile communication system includes performing reception status report of at least one first data block in the protocol layer in accordance with a first value of at least one parameter, the at least one first data block being transmitted from the base station, changing the first value of the at least one parameter to a second set value if a previously set event occurs or if at least one condition is satisfied and performing reception status report of at least one second data block in accordance with a second set value of the at least one parameter, the at least one second data block being transmitted from the base station.

Claims

1. A method of performing reception status report in a specific protocol layer of a user equipment which receives data transmitted from a base station in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:

performing reception status report for at least one first data block in the protocol layer in accordance with a first value of at least one parameter, the at least one first data block being transmitted from the base station;

changing the first value of the at least one parameter to a second set value if a previously set event occurs or if at least one condition is satisfied; and

performing reception status report for at least one second data block in accordance with a second set value of the at least one parameter, the at least one second data block being transmitted from the base station.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one parameter includes a period at which the user equipment performs reception status report.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the at least one parameter further includes a request period at which the base station requests the user equipment to perform reception status report.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the at least one parameter further includes a minimum period at which the base station prohibits the user equipment from performing reception status report.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the previously set event corresponds to a case where the user equipment transmits a measurement report to the base station.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one condition is satisfied if strength of a reference signal transmitted from the base station becomes smaller than a first threshold value.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one condition is satisfied if strength of a reference signal transmitted from a neighboring base station becomes greater than a second threshold value.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least one condition is satisfied if a base station which transits the best signal among the base station and at least one neighboring base station is changed.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein the protocol layer is a radio link control (RLC) layer.

10. A user equipment which performs reception status report of data transmitted from a base station in a mobile communication system, the user equipment being configured to perform the steps of:

performing reception status report of at least one first data block in the protocol layer in accordance with a first value of at least one parameter, the at least one first data block being transmitted from the base station;

changing the first value of the at least one parameter to a second set value if a previously set event occurs or if at least one condition is satisfied; and

performing reception status report of at least one second data block in accordance with a second set value of the at least one parameter, the at least one second data block being transmitted from the base station.
