Abstract

The present invention relates to a portable data carrier (2) and a method for its production, consisting of an apparatus (4) for storing and processing data, an antenna (6) for transmitting energy and information which is connected to the apparatus (4), as well as a plastic surrounding the apparatus (4) and the antenna (6), characterized in that the plastic of the portable data carrier is transparent or partially transparent and the antenna (6) has at least one security feature.

41. A portable data carrier, comprising data storing and processing apparatus;

an antenna for transmitting energy and information which is connected to the apparatus;

a plastic surrounding the apparatus and the antenna;

wherein the plastic of the portable data carrier is transparent or partially transparent and the antenna includes at least one security feature.

42. The data carrier according to claim 41, wherein the security feature of the antenna comprises a pigment or a surface structure or a micro particle or a color capsule.

43. The data carrier according to claim 42, wherein the antenna comprises a printed antenna.

44. The data carrier according to claim 43, wherein the printed antenna comprises antenna printing paste and a binding agent, said binding agent comprising at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule and/or on a surface of the antenna at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule is disposed.

45. The data carrier according to claim 44, wherein the pigment or the micro particle or the color capsule is detectable without technical aids.

46. The data carrier according to claim 45, wherein the pigment comprises a color pigment.

47. The data carrier according to claim 45, wherein the pigment comprises a pigment with optical effects.

48. The data carrier according to claim 47, wherein the pigment comprises a pigment with color-shift effect.

49. The data carrier according to claim 48, wherein the pigment is a thin-film pigment or a liquid-crystal pigment.

50. The data carrier according to claim 47, wherein the pigment is a thermochromic pigment.

51. The data carrier according to claim 47, wherein the pigment is a pigment with glitter effect.

52. The data carrier according to claim 44, wherein the pigment or the micro particle or the color capsule is detectable only with technical aids.

53. The data carrier according to claim 52, wherein the pigment is a luminescent pigment.

54. The data carrier according to claim 53, wherein the luminescent pigment is excited by electromagnetic radiation to emit electromagnetic radiation.

55. The data carrier according to claim 54, wherein the luminescent pigment is excitable by electromagnetic radiation in the ultraviolet or infrared or visible spectral range to emit electromagnetic radiation in the ultraviolet or infrared or visible spectral range.

56. The data carrier according to claim 53, wherein the luminescent pigment is excitable by an electrical or magnetic field.

57. The data carrier according to claim 52, wherein the pigment comprises a magnetic pigment.

58. The data carrier according to claim 52, wherein the pigment comprises an electrically conductive pigment.

59. The data carrier according to claim 52, wherein the pigment comprises a substance which absorbs radiation in the infrared spectral range.

60. The data carrier according to claim 45, wherein the micro particles have different shapes and/or colors and/or surface structures and/or inscriptions and/or images.

61. The data carrier according to claim 60, wherein the micro particles comprise metal and/or plastic.

62. The data carrier according to claim 45, wherein the color capsules change their color in dependence on an applied electrical field.

63. The data carrier according to claim 44, wherein the antenna printing paste comprises electrically conductive materials.

64. The data carrier according to claim 63, wherein the antenna printing paste comprises silver or gold as the electrically conductive material.

65. The data carrier according to claim 44, wherein a surface of the antenna is completely or partially embossed with a structure and/or is completely or partially printed.

66. The data carrier according to claim 42, wherein the antenna comprises a wire antenna.

67. The data carrier according to claim 66, wherein wire of the wire antenna is coated with an insulating lacquer.

68. The data carrier according to claim 67, wherein between the wire of the wire antenna and the insulating lacquer and/or in and/or on the insulating lacquer, there is disposed at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule that is detectable without technical aid.

70. The data carrier according to claim 67, wherein above the wire of the wire antenna, instead of or in addition to the insulating lacquer, there is disposed a coating which varies its color in dependence on the temperature.

The data carrier according to claim 67, wherein, in the complete or in parts of the surface of the wire of the wire antenna, or at least in an insulating lacquer or the coating of the wire, a structure is completely or partially embossed, or complete or parts of a surface of the wire or at least the insulating lacquer or a coating of the wire is completely or partially printed.

72. The data carrier according to claim 67, wherein the wire of the wire antenna comprises an alloy.

73. The data carrier according to claim 42, wherein the antenna comprises an etched antenna.

The data carrier according to claim 73, wherein in and/or on the surface of the etched antenna at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule that is detectable without technical aids is disposed or a structure is embossed in the complete or in parts of a surface of the antenna or a surface of the antenna is completely or partially printed.

75. The data carrier according to claim 41, wherein the data carrier is a chip card.

69. The data carrier according to clam 67, wherein between the wire of the wire antenna and the insulating lacquer and/or in and/or on the insulating lacquer, there is disposed at least one security thread.

76. A method for producing a contactless data carrier having an antenna that is printed or produced of wire or etched, an apparatus for storing and processing data which is connected to the antenna, and a plastic body enclosing the apparatus and the antenna, comprising the steps:

applying at least one security feature on a surface of the antenna and/or mixed with a material of the antenna and/or a surface of the antenna and/or a coating of a surface of the antenna is completely or partially printed and/or a structure is embossed in the complete or only parts of a surface of the antenna and/or a coating of a surface of the antenna.

77. The method according to claim 76, including using as security feature at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule and/or at least one security thread and/or at least one coating whose color changes in dependence on the temperature.

78. The method according to claim 77, including printing the antenna by means of screen printing from a mixture comprising a conductive paste and a binding agent, wherein at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule is added to the binding agent.

The method according to claim 77, including forming the antenna of wire, wherein at least one pigment and/or one micro particle and/or one color capsule and/or at least one security thread is applied with an insulating lacquer on the wire and/or instead of or in addition to the insulating lacquer, at least one coating is applied on the wire, which coating changes its color in dependence on the temperature.

80. The method according to claim 77, including forming the antenna by etching, comprising producing on thermoplastic material an antenna by coating, exposure and etching steps, wherein pigments are vapor-deposited on the antenna using a vapor-depositing method and subsequently micro particles and/or color capsules are applied.
