Abstract

The invention relates to a process for controlling a drive train with an internal combustion engine, a transmission and an automatically actuated brake system. In the event of a defect of the transmission, retardation is effected by means of the automatically actuated brake system in order to avoid impermissibly high speeds in the drive train.

Claims

1. A process for controlling a drive train of a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine and an automated transmission as well as an automatic brake system for retarding the motor vehicle, said process comprising:

retarding the motor vehicle by means of the automatic brake system upon occurrence of a defect of the automated transmission.

2. The process according to claim 1, wherein a torque output by the internal combustion engine is reduced, during the defect of the transmission, by intervening in a control unit of the internal combustion engine.

3. The process according to claim 1, wherein the automatic brake system is an electronic stabilization program.

4. The process according to claim 1, wherein the automatic brake system is a recuperation device.

5. The process according to claim 1, wherein the automatic brake system is a transmission brake.

6. The process according to claim 1, wherein upon occurrence of said defect of the automated transmission, the motor vehicle is retarded to a default speed.

7. The process according to claim 6, wherein said default speed depends on a default gear engaged in the automated transmission.

8. The process according to claim 6, wherein a signal with the default speed is transmitted from a control device of the automated transmission to a control device of the automatic brake system.

9. The process according to claim 8, wherein the automatic brake system retards the motor vehicle to the default speed.
