Abstract

In one embodiment a computing system comprises one or more processors, a display device coupled to the computing system, a connection client module, at least one remote access client module, a memory module communicatively connected to the one or more processors and comprising logic to; receive a service request from a user via a remote connection client coupled to the connection server, wherein the service request comprises at least one user credential, authenticate the at least one user credential, retrieve at least one user profile associated with the user, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile, transmit the at least one user profile, at least one remote system and the connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile from the connection server to the remote connection client.

Claims

1. A method for remote connection management with multiple systems, comprising:

receiving, in a connection server, a service request from a user via a remote connection client coupled to the connection server, wherein the service request comprises at least one user credential;

authenticating, in the connection server, the at least one user credential;

retrieving, in the connection server, at least one user profile associated with the user, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile;

transmitting the at least one user profile, at least one remote system and the connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile from the connection server to the remote connection client.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the service request is initiated in the remote connection client by:

initiating a connection client module;

prompting a user to input credentials;

receiving the user credentials; and

transmitting, from the computing device, user credentials to the connection server.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein retrieving, in the connection server, at least one user profile associated with the user comprises:

retrieving a list of at least two user profiles;

transmitting the list of at least two user profiles to the remote connection client; and

receiving a selection signal from the remote connection client, wherein the selection signal indicates which profile the user wishes to use.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein retrieving, in the connection server, at least one user profile associated with the user comprises:

determining the number of user profiles stored in the connection server; and

in response to a determination that only one user profile is stored in the connection server, selecting the user profile.

The method of claim 1, wherein retrieving, in the connection server, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile comprises dynamically assigning to the user an available remote system from a pool of available remote systems.

6. The method if claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, in the remote connection client, the at least one user profile, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user;

initiating, in the remote connection client, a session for a first remote system;

establishing a connection between the remote connection client an the first remote system; and

displaying a remote desktop for the first remote system.

7. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

initiating, in the remote connection client, a session for a second remote system;

establishing a connection between the remote connection client and second remote system; and

displaying a remote desktop for the second remote system.

8. A computing system comprising:

one or more processors;

a display device coupled to the computing system;

a connection client module;

at least one remote access client module;

a memory module communicatively connected to the one or more processors and comprising logic to;

receive a service request from a user via a remote connection client coupled to the connection server, wherein the service request comprises at least one user credential;

authenticate the at least one user credential;

retrieve at least one user profile associated with the user, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile;

transmit the at least one user profile, at least one remote system and the connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile from the connection server to the remote connection client.

9. The computing system of claim 8, wherein the service request is initiated in the remote connection client by logic to:

initiate a connection client module

prompt a user to input credentials;

receive the user credentials; and

transmit, from the computing device, user credentials to the connection server.

10. The computing system of claim 8, wherein logic to retrieve at least one user profile associated with the user comprises logic to:

retrieve a list of at least two user profiles;

transmit the list of at least two user profiles to the remote connection client; and

receive a selection signal from the remote connection client.

11. The computing system of claim 8, wherein logic to retrieve at least one user profile associated with the user comprises logic to:

determine the number of user profiles stored in the connection server; and

in response to a determination that only one user profile is stored in the connection server, select the user profile.

12. The computing system of claim 8, wherein logic to retrieve connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile comprises logic to dynamically assign to the user an available remote system from a pool of available remote systems.

13. The computing system of claim 8, further comprises logic to:

receive the at least one user profile, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user;

initiate a session for a first remote system;

establish a connection between the remote connection client and the first remote system; and

display a remote desktop of the first remote system.

14. The computing system of claim 13, further comprises logic to:

initiate a session for a second remote system;

establish a connection between the remote connection client and second remote system; and

display a remote desktop for the second remote system.

15. A computer program product comprising logic instructions stored on a computer-readable medium which, when executed by a computer processor, configures the processor to:

receive a service request from a user via a remote connection client coupled to the connection server, wherein the service request comprises at least one user credential;

authenticate the at least one user credential;

retrieve at least one user profile associated with the user, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile;

transmit the at least one user profile, at least one remote system and the connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user profile from the connection server to the remote connection client.

16. The computer program product of claim 15, further comprising logic instructions which, when executed on the processor, configures the processor to:

initiate a connection client module

prompt a user to input credentials;

receive the user credentials; and

transmit, from the computing device, user credentials to the connection server.

17. The computer program product of claim 15, further comprising logic instructions which, when executed on the processor, configures the processor to:

retrieve a list of at least two user profiles;

transmit the list of at least two user profiles to the remote connection client; and

receive a selection signal from the remote connection client.

18. The computer program product of claim 15, further comprising logic instructions which, when executed on the processor, configures the processor to:

determine the number of user profiles stored in the connection server; and

in response to a determination that only one user profile is stored in the connection server, select the user profile.

19. The computer program product of claim 15, further comprising logic instructions which, when executed on the processor, configures the processor to dynamically assign to the user an available remote system from a pool of available remote systems.

20. The computer program product of claim 15, further comprising logic instructions which, when executed on the processor, configures the processor to:

receive the at least one user profile, connection data for at least one remote system and at least one policy associated with the at least one user;

initiate a session for a first remote system;

establish a connection between the remote connection client an the first remote system; and

display a remote desktop the first remote system.
