Abstract

The present invention relates in general to metalloproteinase inhibitors and to polynucleotides encoding such inhibitors. In particular, the invention relates to novel mammalian inhibitors of metalloproteinase, which are designated as type three or TIMP-3, to fragments, derivatives, and analogs thereof, and to polynucleotides encoding the same. Novel methods of producing such compositions and novel methods of using such compositions are also provided.

Claims

1. An isolated antibody that selectively binds human TIMP-3.

2. The antibody of claim 1 which is a monoclonal antibody.

3. The antibody of claim 1 which is a recombinant antibody.

4. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody of claim 1.

5. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody of claim 2.

6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the antibody of claim 3.

7. A kit comprising the antibody of claim 1.

8. A kit comprising the antibody of claim 2.

9. A kit comprising the antibody of claim 3.
