Abstract

A method and apparatus for an organizer that may receive a cellular portion to form a cellular telephone is provided. An organizer comprises an organizer component, including a microphone. The organizer further includes an area for receiving an additional component. The area is designed to receive a cellular component, and a connection element is designed to mate the microphone in the organizer component with the cellular component, to use the organizer as a part of a cellular telephone.

Claims

1. A method of receiving incoming telephone calls in a mobile computing device, comprising:

receiving a first incoming call from a first caller;

identifying a telephone number associated with the first incoming call;

determining whether the telephone number matches an entry of a list associated with the mobile computing device;

displaying information of the first caller retrieved from the list responsive to determining that the telephone number matches the entry of the list on a screen coupled to the mobile computing device; and

establishing communication with the first caller responsive to receiving a first user input indicating answering of the first incoming call.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

generating an alert representing receipt of the second incoming call responsive to receiving a second incoming call from a second caller during communication with the first caller; and

placing the first caller on hold and establishing communication with the second caller responsive to receiving a second user input indicating answering of the second incoming call.

3. The method of claim 2, further comprising:

displaying information of the first caller and the second caller responsive to establishing communication with the second caller; and

displaying a status of establishing communication with the first caller or the second caller responsive to establishing communication with the second caller.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

displaying on the screen information about the voicemail from the first incoming call responsive to receiving the voicemail at the voicemail system.

5. The method of claim 4, further comprising:

generating a view on the screen including a graphical representation for retrieving the voicemail from the voicemail system responsive to receiving the voicemail from the first caller; and

establishing connection with the voicemail system responsive to receiving a user input associated with the graphical representation.

6. The method of claim 5, wherein the view further comprises graphical representations for playing the voicemail, pausing the voicemail, returning to a beginning of the voicemail, and deleting the voicemail.

7. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

generating a view on the screen indicating that the first incoming call was not received responsive to not connecting to the first incoming call, the view further including a graphical representation associated with placing a call to the first caller.

8. A mobile computing device with telephonic functionality, comprising:

a telephone component configured to receive a first incoming call from a first caller;

a processor coupled to the telephone component; and

a computer readable storage medium storing instructions, the instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to;

identify a telephone number associated with the first incoming call; and

determine whether the telephone number matches an entry of a list associated with the mobile computing device;

display information of the first caller retrieved from the list responsive to determining that the telephone number matches the entry of the list on a screen coupled to the mobile computing device; and

establish communication with the first caller responsive to receiving a first user input indicating answering of the first incoming call.

9. The mobile computing device of claim 8, wherein the computer readable storage medium further stores instructions to:

generate an alert representing receipt of the second incoming call responsive to receiving a second incoming call from a second caller during communication with the first caller; and

place the first caller on hold and establish communication with the second caller responsive to receiving a second user input indicating answering of the second incoming call.

10. The mobile computing device of claim 9, wherein the computer readable storage medium further stores instructions to:

display information of the first caller and the second caller responsive to establishing communication with the second caller; and

display a status of call establishing communication with the first caller or the second caller responsive to establishing communication with the second caller.

11. The mobile computing device of claim 8, wherein the computer readable storage medium further stores instructions to:

display on the screen information about the voicemail from the first incoming call responsive to receiving the voicemail at the voicemail system.

12. The mobile computing device of claim 11, wherein the computer readable storage medium further stores instructions to:

generate a view on the screen including a graphical representation for retrieving the voicemail from the voicemail system responsive to receiving the voicemail from the first caller; and

establish communication with the voicemail system responsive to receiving a user input associated with the graphical representation.

13. The mobile computing device of claim 12, wherein the view further comprises graphical representations for playing the voicemail, pausing the voicemail, returning to a beginning of the voicemail, and deleting the voicemail.

14. The mobile computing device of claim 8, wherein the computer readable storage medium further stores instructions to:

generate a view on the screen indicating that the first incoming call was not received responsive to not receiving the first user input, the view further including a graphical representation associated with placing a call to the first caller.

19. The computer readable storage medium of claim 8, further storing instructions to:

generate a view on the screen including a graphical representation for retrieving the voicemail from the voicemail system responsive to receiving the voicemail from the first caller; and

establish communication with the voicemail system responsive to receiving a user input associated with the graphical representation.

20. The computer readable storage medium of claim 19, wherein the view further comprises graphical representations for playing the voicemail, pausing the voicemail, returning to a beginning of the voicemail, and deleting the voicemail.

15. A computer readable storage medium in a mobile computing device with telephonic functionality, the computer readable storage medium storing instructions when executed by a processor in the computing device cause the processor to:

determine a telephone number associated with the first incoming call responsive to receiving a first incoming call from a first caller; and

identify whether the telephone number matches an entry of a list associated with the mobile computing device;

display information of the first caller retrieved from the list responsive to determining that the telephone number matches the entry of the list on a screen coupled to the mobile computing device; and

establish communication with the first caller responsive to receiving a first user input indicating answering of the first incoming call.

16. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, further storing instructions to:

generate an alert representing receipt of the second incoming call responsive to receiving a second incoming call from a second caller during communication with the first caller; and

place the first caller on hold and establish communication with the second caller responsive to receiving a second user input indicating answering of the second incoming call.

17. The computer readable storage medium of claim 16, further storing instructions to:

display information of the first caller and the second caller responsive to establishing communication with the second caller; and

display a status of call communicating with the first caller or the second caller responsive to establishing communication with the second caller.

18. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, further storing instructions to:

display on the screen information about the voicemail from the first incoming call responsive to receiving the voicemail at the voicemail system.

21. The computer readable storage medium of claim 15, further storing instruction to:

generate a view on the screen indicating that the first incoming call was not received responsive to not establishing communication with the first incoming call, the view further including a graphical representation associated with placing a call to the first caller.
