23. A method of fastening a modular muscle of an amputee, comprising:

providing a muscle cap having a first portion and a second portion, the first portion including at least one group of through holes substantially aligned along a first direction and the second portion forming a stem extending from the first portion in the first direction, positioning the stem portion in a muscle-supporting structure; and passing a plurality of surgical tapes through respective through holes formed in said first portion, and securing said surgical tapes to adjacent muscle tissue.
