Abstract
The present invention relates to generating position determination information. A corresponding system comprises an image receiving means (102) for obtaining at least one image of the environment, and a control point information obtaining means (104) for obtaining control point position information about a position of at least one control point (152) in the environment. The system also comprises an image processing means (108) for associating said control point position information about a position of the at least one control point (152) in the environment to an image of the at least one control point (152) in the at least one image of the environment and for deriving, from the at least one image of the environment, position information of at least one object (202) in the environment taking into account the associated position information of the image of the at least one control point (152). An accuracy control means allows controlling the obtained accuracy by controlling the control points used.

obtaining at least one image of the environment; obtaining position information about at least one control point; associating position information about a position of the at least one control point in the environment to an image of the at least one control point in the at least one image of the environment controlling the accuracy to be obtained of the positional information of the at least one object in the environment to obtain at least a predetermined minimum accuracy level by controlling through adjusting the number of control points used and/or by selecting control points with different position; and deriving, from the at least one image of the environment, position information of at least one object in the environment taking into account the associated position information of the image of the at least one control point. - View Dependent Claims (43, 44, 45, 46, 47)

48. The method for setting up a survey using a ground control point network, comprising the steps:

obtaining information regarding control points of a ground control point network; obtaining information about the geographic positional information that needs to be mapped; and determining a route based on said information regarding control points of the ground control point network and the information regarding the geographic area that needs to be mapped; wherein said determining a route comprises taking into account an accuracy of positional information obtained along said route by controlling through adjusting the number of ground control points and/or selecting ground control points with different position used from the ground control point network to obtain at least a predetermined minimum accuracy level.

49. A computer program product for, when run on a computer, performing a method for generating position determination information in an environment, the method comprising:

obtaining at least one image of the environment; obtaining position information about at least one control point; associating position information about a position of the at least one control point in the environment to an image of the at least one control point in the at least one image of the environment; controlling the accuracy to be obtained of the positional information of the at least one object in the environment to obtain at least a predetermined minimum accuracy level by controlling through adjusting the number of control points used and/or by selecting control points with different position; and deriving, from the at least one image of the environment, position information of at least one object in the environment taking into account the associated position information of the image of the at least one control point.

50. A computer program product for, when run on a computer, performing a
method for setting up a survey using a ground control point network, the method comprising: -
obtaining information regarding control points of a ground control point network; obtaining information about the geographic positional information that needs to be mapped; and determining a route based on said information regarding control points of the ground control point network and the information regarding the geographic area that needs to be mapped; wherein said determining a route comprises taking into account an accuracy of positional information obtained along said route by controlling through adjusting the number of ground control points and/or selecting ground control points with different position used from the ground control point network to obtain at least a predetermined minimum accuracy level.
