System, Method and Computer Program Product for Providing Content to a Terminal
First Claim
1. An apparatus configured to operate in a fixed network environment, the apparatus comprising:
- first circuitry configured to reformat content intended for receipt by another apparatus configured to operate in a wireless network environment, the content being reformatted into a vectorized format; and
second circuitry configured to transfer the reformatted content and an address of the other apparatus to a messaging gateway configured to interface between the fixed network environment and the wireless network environment, wherein the transfer of the reformatted content and the address of the other apparatus enables the messaging gateway to signal the other apparatus based upon the other apparatus address, the signal including information required to access the reformatted content but not including the reformatted content, and wherein the transfer of the reformatted content and the address of the other apparatus enables the messaging gateway to further facilitate downloading of the reformatted content to the other apparatus in response to receipt of a request from the other apparatus, the request being in response to the messaging gateway signal.

Abstract
A system for providing content to a mobile terminal includes a source and a messaging gateway. The source is capable of reformatting content intended for receipt by a terminal, and transferring the reformatted content and an address of the terminal to the messaging gateway. The content can be reformatted in any of a number of different manners, including for example, a vectorized format such as the scalable vector graphics (SVG) format. In response to receiving the reformatted content and address of the terminal, the messaging gateway is capable of signaling the terminal, the signaling including information required to access the reformatted content. As such, the terminal can thereafter send a request to the messaging gateway in response to the messaging gateway signaling the destination client, and thereafter download the reformatted content from the messaging gateway, such as at least partially across a cellular network.
