Abstract

An RFID reader control system and method is provided. A protocol for controlling an RFID reader and an RFID reader control unit of a mobile phone is defined. Messages, information, commands, responses, and notification are constructed and transmitted between the RFID reader and the RFID reader control unit.

Claims

1. A method of generating a control protocol message between an RFID reader and an RFID reader control unit of a terminal, the method comprising:

selecting a payload type; and

generating, according to the selected payload type, a payload field for writing data related to a command transmitted from the RFID reader control unit to the RFID reader or data related to a response transmitted form the RFID reader to the RFID reader control unit.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is selected according to a corresponding command or a corresponding response.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type includes at least one of argument, user-related data, manufacturer-related data, memory bank related data, information protection data including access password and kill password, management-related data, and tag item information including an unique item identifier (UII).

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is one selected from payload types A through X to form a corresponding payload field.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type C including a modulation index, a byte mask, and an address.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type D including target, action, MB, pointer, mask length, T, RFU, and mask.

7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type E including S, IV, M, Sel, TR, and Q.

8. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type L including UID, manufacturer, H/W type, memory layout, and user data.

9. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type M including TID.

10. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type N including TID bank length, TID bank, UII length, PC, UII or UII set, and user data.

11. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type P including access password, UII length, UII, new UII length, new UII, and PC.

12. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type Q including UID, start address, length, and user data.

13. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type R including access password, UII length, UII, start address, length, and user data.

14. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type S including UID, memory layout, user data length, and user data.

15. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type T including access password, UII length, UII, new UII length, new UII, PC, user data length, user data, reserved bank length, and reserved bank data.

16. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type U including access password, kill password, UII length, and UII.

17. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type V including UID.

18. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type W including access password, UII length, UII, and lock data.

19. The method according to claim 1, wherein the payload type is a payload type X including DR, M, TR, Sel, S, T, Q, and UpDn.
