1. A system for optimizing a sleep therapy for a patient using a reduced stimulus energy in response to a terminated sleep disorder event, the system comprising:
- a sensor configured to detect activity information from the patient;
a closed loop neuromodulator configured to receive first activity information from the sensor, to detect a first sleep disorder event using the first activity information, and to provide, in response to the first sleep disorder event, a first stimulus using a set of stimulus parameters;
wherein the closed loop neuromodulator is configured to receive second activity information from the sensor after providing the first stimulus, and to detect, using the second activity information, termination of the first sleep disorder event in response to the first stimulus; and
wherein the closed loop neuromodulator is configured to receive third activity information from the sensor, to detect a second sleep disorder event using the third activity information, and to provide, in response to the second sleep disorder event, a second stimulus using an adjusted set of stimulus parameters;
wherein the second stimulus is configured to provide less energy to the patient than the first stimulus; and
a transducer configured to deliver the first stimulus to the patient to interrupt the detected first sleep disorder event.

This document discusses, among other things, a system and method for optimizing a sleep therapy using a closed loop neuromodulator. A first sleep disorder event can be detected using first activity information, and a first stimulus can be provided, in response to the first sleep disorder event, using a set of stimulus parameters. Termination of the first sleep disorder event can be detected using second activity information, and at least one therapy parameter can be adjusted to decrease an energy level of a subsequent stimulus.

13. A method for optimizing a sleep therapy using a closed loop neuromodulator, the method comprising:
