1. A method of managing an event in an electronic calendaring application, comprising:
- associating the event with a rule, the rule comprising a reminder and an expiration;
storing a calendar entry corresponding to the event;
presenting the reminder until the expiration;
continuing to present the event in the electronic calendaring application; and
ceasing to present the reminder after the expiration when a graphical window associated with the electronic calendaring application is maximized or minimized such that the reminder is not presented by the electronic calendaring application.

Abstract
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for managing events in an electronic calendar. One such method associates an event with a rule, with the rule comprising a reminder and a date and a time of expiration. A calendar entry corresponding to the event is stored. After the date and time of the expiration, the electronic calendar ceases to present the reminder when launched. That is, when the electronic calendar is initialized, no reminders of expired events are visually/audibly presented by the electronic calendar.

1. A method of managing an event in an electronic calendaring application, comprising:
-
associating the event with a rule, the rule comprising a reminder and an expiration; storing a calendar entry corresponding to the event; presenting the reminder until the expiration; continuing to present the event in the electronic calendaring application; and ceasing to present the reminder after the expiration when a graphical window associated with the electronic calendaring application is maximized or minimized such that the reminder is not presented by the electronic calendaring application. - View Dependent Claims (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

9. A system, comprising:
-
a processor executing code stored in memory that causes the processor to; associate the event with a rule, the rule comprising a reminder and an expiration; store a calendar entry corresponding to the event; present the reminder until the expiration; continue to present the event in the electronic calendaring application; and cease to present the reminder after the expiration when a graphical window associated with the electronic calendaring application is maximized or minimized such that the reminder is not presented by the electronic calendaring application. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16)

17. A computer readable medium storing processor executable instructions for performing a method, the method comprising:
-
launching an electronic calendaring application; associating an event with a rule comprising a reminder, an expiration, and an interval, the expiration defining a date after which the reminder is no longer produced, the rule establishing a date and a time at which the reminder is first presented and automatically establishing the interval at which the reminder is subsequently re-presented until the expiration; storing a calendar entry corresponding to the event; disposing of a portion of the rule that defines the reminder upon the expiration; continuing to present the event in the electronic calendaring application; and minimizing a graphical window associated with the electronic calendaring application; and triggering a refresh of the calendaring application when the graphical window is maximized to cease processing expired rules, such that the event remains displayed by the electronic calendaring application, but the reminder is not processed by the electronic calendaring application. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
