1. A computer interface device comprising:
- a housing;
a first sensor for detecting a position change of the computer interface device on a surface, wherein the first sensor provides a first pair of parameters to indicate the position of the housing on the surface;
a touch pad configured with the housing, wherein the touch pad is configured to detect gestures and provides gesture signals responsive to the gestures;
a wireless link to transmit the first pair of parameters and the signals to a computing device,wherein a cursor displayed on a screen of the computing device is controlled by the first pair of parameters, andwherein another displayed attribute of the computing device is controlled by the gesture signals.

A computer interface device has a housing configured with a first sensor for detecting a position change of the computer interface device on a surface, a touch pad configured with the housing for generating touchpad signals, and a wireless link to transmit the first pair of parameters and the touchpad signals to a computing device. In an application, the first sensor provides a first pair of parameters to indicate the position of the housing on the surface and control cursor displayed on a screen of the computing device. The touch pad may be configured to detect gestures and provides signals responsive to the gestures over a wireless link for controlling a displayed object or attribute on the screen of the computing device. The touch pad may also be configured to detect a plurality of contacting fingers and to provide signals over a wireless link used to control a displayed object or attribute on the screen of the computing device.

a housing; a first sensor for detecting a position change of the computer interface device on a surface, wherein the first sensor positioning signals indicate the position change of the housing on the surface; a touch pad configured with the housing, wherein the touch pad is configured to detect multiple points of contact of a plurality of contacting fingers and provides plurality touch signals responsive to the plurality of contacting fingers; a wireless link to transmit the first pair of parameters and the signals to a computing device, and wherein a cursor displayed on a screen of the computing device is controlled by the first pair of parameters, and wherein another displayed attribute of the computing device is controlled by the gesture signals.
