a writing capability for writing new data to the electronic tag.

12. A communication method between a pump station and a removable infusion set, the method comprising:

17. A method of tracking a removable infusion set through a plurality of infusion processes, the method comprising:

operatively coupling the removable infusion set to an infusion pump, the removable infusion set including an electronic tag operatively connected thereto; requesting, from the electronic tag, data related to a previous infusion process, a prescribed infusion process, or a combination thereof, the requesting being accomplished by a control element operatively connected to the infusion pump; using at least some of the data to perform an instant infusion process; sending, from the control element to the electronic tag, new data related to the instant infusion process; writing the new data to the electronic tag; and using at least the new data in a subsequent infusion process. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
