Abstract

A control method for a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag is provided. The control method includes steps of prompting a plurality of RFID tags to enter a ready state; enabling a first RFID tag from the RFID tags to enter an accessible stage, and providing a first identification code to the first RFID tag; and commanding the first RFID tag to enter a standby state from the accessible stage.

Claims

1. A method for controlling a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, comprising steps of:

prompting a plurality of RFID tags to enter a ready state;

enabling a first RFID tag from the plurality of RFID tags to enter an accessible stage and providing a first identification code to the first RFID tag in the accessible stage; and

commanding the first RFID tag to enter a standby state from the accessible stage.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the step of commanding the first RFID tag to enter the standby state from the accessible stage comprises:

providing a second identification code different from the first identification code to the first RFID tag;

identifying the first RFID tag in the standby state according to the second identification code; and

directly returning the first RFID tag from the standby state to the accessible stage without re-entering the ready state.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:

identifying the first RFID tag in the standby state according to the first identification code; and

directly returning the first RFID from the standby state to the accessible stage without re-entering the ready state.

The method as claimed in claim 1, the accessible stage comprising a plurality of states, the control method, between the step of enabling the first RFID tag from the plurality of RFID tags to enter the accessible stage and providing the first identification code to the first RFID tag, and the step of commanding the first RFID tag to enter the standby state from the accessible stage, further comprising:

recording the state of the accessible stage, and returning the first RFID tag from the standby state to the recorded state of the accessible stage.

5. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the state is an open state, in which a part of a data stored in the first RFID tag is accessible.

6. The method as claimed in claim 4, wherein the state is a secured state, in which the first RFID tag has an authentication scheme, and the first RFID tag allows secured data access thereto when the authentication scheme is satisfied.

7. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:

enabling a second RFID tag from the plurality of RFID tags to enter the accessible stage; and

commanding the second RFID tag to enter the standby state from the accessible stage.

8. The method as claimed in claim 1, further comprising:

returning the first RFID tag from the standby state to the ready state.

9. The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the method is executed by an RFID reader.

The method as claimed in claim 1, wherein the step of enabling the first RFID tag from the plurality of RFID tags to enter the accessible stage and providing the first identification code to the first RFID tag, and the step of commanding the first RFID tag to enter the standby state from the accessible stage, are RFID class 1 generation 2 (C1G2) compliant.

11. An RFID system, comprising:

a plurality of RFID tags; and

an RFID reader,

wherein, the RFID reader prompts a plurality of RFID tags to enter a ready state, enables a first RFID tag of the plurality of RFID tags to enter an accessible stage, provides a first identification code to the first RFID tag, and commands the first RFID tag to enter a standby state from the accessible stage.

12. The RFID system as claimed in claim 11, wherein the RFID reader further provides a second identification code different from the first identification code to the first RFID tag.

13. The RFID system as claimed in claim 12, wherein the RFID reader identifies the first RFID tag in the standby state according to the second identification code, and directly returns the first RFID tag from the standby state to the accessible stage without re-entering the ready state.

14. The RFID system as claimed in claim 11, wherein the RFID reader further identifies the first RFID tag in the standby state according to the first identification code, and directly returns the first RFID tag from the standby state to the accessible stage without re-entering the ready state.

15. The RFID system as claimed in claim 11, wherein the accessible stage comprises a plurality of states;

and the RFID tag records the state of the accessible stage after entering the accessible stage and before entering the standby state, and returns the first RFID tag from the standby state to the recorded state of the accessible stage.

16. The RFID system as claimed in claim 15, wherein the state is an open state, in which a part of data stored in the first RFID tag is accessible.

17. The RFID system as claimed in claim 15, wherein the state is a secured state, in which the first RFID tag has an authentication scheme, and the RFID reader is allowed to access secured data from the first RFID tag after satisfying the authentication scheme.

18. The RFID system as claimed in claim 11, wherein the RFID reader enables a second RFID tag from the plurality of RFID tags to enter the accessible stage, and commands the second RFID tag to enter the standby state from the accessible stage.

19. The RFID system as claimed in claim 11, wherein the RFID reader further returns the first RFID tag to the ready state from the standby state.

20. The RFID system as claimed in claim 11, wherein the identification system is RFID C1G2 compliant.
