Abstract

Methods and systems for metrics-based gaming operations are provided. Information concerning game play for each play may be received and stored. Such information may be used to generate certain metrics. The generated metrics, in turn, may be used to determine how to customize a game operation. Such game operations may include providing training to a player, matching a player up with another player or with a team, adjusting a game event, etc.

Claims

1. A method for metrics-based game operations, the method comprising:

receiving information concerning game play of a first player in a game session;

providing the received information to a database for storage;

generating a metric based on an analysis of the information concerning the game play of the first player in the game session;

determining instructions for customizing a game operation based on the generated metric; and

providing the determined instructions for use in customizing the game operation for the first player.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the information is received in response to a trigger event in the game play.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the metric indicates a condition in the game environment.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the metric indicates a characteristic of the game play of the first player.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the determined instructions for customizing the game operation concern adjusting a game event in a game session of the first player.

11. The method of claim 1, further comprising generating a report including the received information concerning the game play and the generated metric for the player.

5. A method for metrics-based game operations, the method comprising:

receiving information concerning game play of a first player in a game session;

providing the received information to a database for storage;

generating a metric based on an analysis of the information concerning the game play of the first player in the game session;

determining a training curriculum for the first player based on the generated metric; and

providing the determined training curriculum to the first player.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising creating a training video for the first player based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

7. The method of claim 5, further comprising adjusting a training video for the first player based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

8. The method of claim 5, further comprising matching the first player with a second player based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

9. A method for metrics-based game operations, the method comprising:

receiving information concerning game play of each of a plurality of players;

generating metrics based on analyses of the information concerning the game play of each of the plurality of players; and

matching the first player with a second player from the plurality of players based on at least the generated metrics for the first player and for each of the plurality of players.

12. A system for metrics-based game operations, the system comprising:

a database configured to store information concerning the game play of a first player in a game session;

a processor configured to generate a metric based on an analysis of the information concerning the game play of the first player in the game session and to determine instructions for customizing a game operation based on the generated metric; and

a network interface configured to provide the generated instructions for use in customizing the game operation for the first player.

18. The system of claim 12, further comprising a report generator configured to generate a report including the received information concerning the game play and the generated metric for the player.

19. The system of claim 12, wherein the determined instructions for customizing the game operation concern adjusting a game event in a game session of the first player.

13. A system for metrics-based game operations, the system comprising:

a database configured to store information concerning the game play of a first player in a game session;

a processor configured to determine a training curriculum for the first player based on an analysis of the information concerning the game play of the first player in the game session; and

a network interface configured to provide the training curriculum to the first player.

14. The system of claim 13, further comprising a repository of training videos, wherein the processor is further configured to select a training video from the repository based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

15. The system of claim 13, further comprising a training video module configured to adjust a training video based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the training video module is further configured to create a training video based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

17. The system of claim 13, further comprising a matching tool configured to match the first player with a second player based on the determined training curriculum for the first player.

20. A computer-readable storage medium having embodied thereon a program, the program being executable by a computer processor to perform a method for metrics-based game operations s, the method comprising:

receiving information concerning game play of a first player in a game session;

providing the received information to a database for storage;

generating a metric based on an analysis of the information concerning the game play of the first player in the game session;

determining instructions for customizing a game operation based on the generated metric; and

providing the determined instructions for use in customizing the game operation for the first player.

21. A computer-readable storage medium having embodied thereon a program, the program being executable by a computer processor to perform a method for metrics-based game operations, the method comprising:

receiving information concerning game play of a first player in a game session;

providing the received information to a database for storage;

generating a metric based on an analysis of the information concerning the game play of the first player in the game session;

determining a training curriculum for the first player based on the generated metric; and

providing the determined training curriculum to the first player.

22. A computer-readable storage medium having embodied thereon a program, the program being executable by a computer processor to perform a method for metrics-based game operations, the method comprising:

receiving information concerning game play of each of a plurality of players;

generating metrics based on analyses of the information concerning the game play of each of the plurality of players; and

matching the first player with a second player from the plurality of players based on at least the generated metrics for the first player and for each of the plurality of players.
