Abstract

A method of generating a customized image includes forming a first design including a first pattern having a first color and a second color. The method also includes receiving input from a user using a design modification element. The method further includes forming a second design including a second pattern including a third color and a fourth color. A change from the first design to the second design is proportional to the input received from the user using the design modification element.

Claims

1. A method of generating a customized image, the method comprising:

forming a first design including a first pattern having a first color and a second color;

receiving input from a user using a design modification element; and

forming a second design including a second pattern including a third color and a fourth color, wherein a change from the first design to the second design is proportional to the input received from the user using the design modification element.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the third color is modified from the first color based on the input received from the user using the design modification element.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the fourth color is modified from the second color based on the input received from the user using the design modification element.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the first pattern further includes additional colors.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the first pattern comprises at least one of stripes, swirls, dots, or circles.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein forming the second design comprises displaying an animation that starts at the first design and ends at the second design based on a second input received from the user.

7. The method of claim 1 further comprising transmitting the second design to a printing facility.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the first color is a derivative of a primary color and the second color is a derivative of a secondary color.

9. A method of generating a customized image for personalization of an electronic device, the method comprising:

providing a primary color;

providing a secondary color;

determining an initial pattern defined by pattern properties including a first color that is a derivative of the primary color, a second color that is a derivative of the secondary color, and a linear dimension;

forming an animated display tile including the initial pattern at a first time and a series of subsequent patterns including the customized image, wherein the series of subsequent patterns are formed based on a predetermined intensity value;

receiving a user input at a second time; and

pausing the animated display tile at the customized image of the series of subsequent patterns in response to the user input at the second time.

10. The method of claim 9 further comprising transmitting the customized image to a printing facility.

11. The method of claim 10 further comprising printing the customized image on a digital imaging device.

12. The method of claim 11 wherein the digital imaging device comprises a camcorder.

13. The method of claim 9 wherein forming the series of subsequent patterns comprises:

modifying the predetermined intensity value to provide an updated intensity value based on an additional user input; and

modifying one or more of the series of subsequent patterns based on the updated intensity value.

14. The method of claim 9 wherein providing a primary color and providing a secondary color comprises defining a first default color as the primary color and defining a second default color as the secondary color.

15. The method of claim 9 wherein the initial pattern comprises at least one of stripes, circles, or dots.

16. The method of claim 9 wherein the predetermined intensity value is user-selectable.

17. The method of claim 9 further comprising forming a plurality of alternative display tiles adjacent the animated display tile.

18. A computer readable medium comprising:

code for forming a first design including a first pattern having a first color and a second color;

code for receiving input from a user using a design modification element; and

code for forming a second design including a second pattern including a third color and a fourth color, wherein a change from the first design to the second design is proportional to the input received from the user using the design modification element.

19. The computer readable medium of claim 18 wherein the third color is modified from the first color based on the input received from the user using the design modification element.

20. The computer readable medium of claim 18 wherein the fourth color is modified from the second color based on the input received from the user using the design modification element.

21. The computer readable medium of claim 18 wherein the first pattern comprises at least one of stripes, swirls, dots, or circles.

22. The computer readable medium of claim 18 further comprising code for transmitting the second design to a printing facility.

23. The computer readable medium of claim 18 wherein the first color is a derivative of a primary color and the second color is a derivative of a secondary color.
