Abstract
The present invention discloses a method and an apparatus to manage files by storing attribute information of the files in a non-hierarchical structure. At least one file and an attribute input window may be displayed on a display unit. At least one file attribute may be input through the window and displayed in the form of a graphical user interface object, such as an icon. By dragging and dropping either the file to the icon or the icon to the file, the file attribute may be input into the file in a non-hierarchical structure.
