Abstract

A method of transmitting reference signals in a wireless communication system for cooperative communication is provided. The wireless communication system defines a plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals each having a different pattern, and each of a plurality of base stations and/or each of a base station and a relay station participating in the cooperative communication transmit the reference signals based on one transmission pattern selected from the plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals.

Claims

1. A method of transmitting reference signals in a wireless communication system for cooperative communication,

wherein the wireless communication system defines a plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals each having a different pattern, and

wherein each of a plurality of base stations and/or each of a base station and a relay station participating in the cooperative communication transmit the reference signals based on one transmission pattern selected from the plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the transmission patterns of the reference signals are defined by using whether the reference signals are transmitted at each of a plurality of subframes in a frame unit consisting of the plurality of subframes.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein, in some or all of the plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals, the reference signals are transmitted in a mutually exclusive manner.

4. The method of claim 3,

wherein the wireless communication system comprises one or more relay stations within one cell, and

wherein the base stations and the relay stations in the cell respectively transmit the reference signals by using the transmission patterns of the reference signals having a mutually exclusive relation.

5. The method of claim 3,

wherein the wireless communication system is a system in which cooperative communication of a plurality of cells is achieved, and

wherein the base stations of the plurality of cells respectively transmit the reference signals by using the transmission patterns of the reference signals having a mutually exclusive relation.

6. The method of claims 5, wherein the base stations and/or the relay station transmitting the reference signals respectively report, in advance, information on the transmission patterns of the reference signals to a receiving apparatus when the reference signals are transmitted.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the base stations and/or the relay station transmitting the reference signals also report information on which transmission patterns of the reference signals are used by a neighboring base station and/or the relay station to the receiving apparatus.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the receiving apparatus detects the reference signals at only a specific subframe by using information on transmission patterns of the received reference signals.

The method of claims 5, wherein a mobile station attempts to detect some or all of the reference signals of subframes corresponding to the plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals, and measures reliability on each of the plurality of transmission patterns of the reference signals by using the detected result on the reference signals.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein the detected result on the reference signals comprises an average value of received reference signal power measured within one frame.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the mobile station detects the reference signals by using a transmission pattern of a reference signal having a highest reliability, and performs channel estimation by using the detected reference signals.

12. The method of claim 9, wherein the mobile station transmits information on the measured reliability to the base station or the relay station.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein the base station or the relay station instructs the mobile station to detect the reference signals by using a transmission pattern of a specific reference signal according to the received reliability information.

14. A method of allocating radio resources in a relay-based wireless communication system,

wherein the wireless communication system has an uplink band and a downlink band which are separated with each other, and

wherein a base station of the wireless communication system transmits a signal to a relay station by using one band randomly selected from the uplink band and the downlink band.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein, at a time point where the relay station transmits a signal to the mobile station through the downlink band, the base station transmits a signal to the relay station through all or some parts of the uplink band.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the base station reports, in advance, to the relay station a message for reporting a fact that a signal is transmitted using all or some parts of the uplink band.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the message comprises information regarding a position and/or amount of radio resources within the uplink band to be used by the base station.

18. The method of claim 15,

wherein the base station transmits a signal to the relay station by using only some radio resources of the uplink band, and

wherein the remaining radio resources of the uplink band not to be used by the base station are allocated for mobile stations transmitting a signal to the relay station.

19. The method of claim 18, wherein a radio resource to be used by the base station for transmission using the uplink band and a radio resource allocated for the mobile stations transmitting a signal to the relay station are separated from each other in time and/or frequency domains.

20. The method of claim 15, wherein the base station controls transmit power to be used when transmission is made to the relay station through the uplink band.
