QUASI-QUADRATIC INTERPOLATION OF IMAGE DATA
First Claim
Patent Images
1. An interpolation method for digital images, comprising:
- obtaining a pixel image including a plurality of pixels;
calculating four quadratic surfaces at the corners of an area defined by four of said pixels;
generating a quasi-quadratic surface for the area using said four quadratic surfaces; and
using said quasi-quadratic surface to determine an interpolated value for a point within said area; and
using said interpolated value to generate an interpolated pixel image.

20. An interpolation method for digital images, comprising:
-
obtaining a pixel image including a plurality of measures pixel values for each pixel area of said pixel image; for a subject pixel area, utilizing four neighboring pixel values to the subject pixel area to estimate a quadratic representation over the subject pixel area; and integrating the quadratic representation over the subject pixel area to obtain a correction formula for said subject pixel value, wherein the integration of the quadratic representation over the subject pixel area is equal to a measured value of said subject pixel; and utilizing said correction formula to calculate a point value for said subject pixel centered at a center of said subject pixel. - View Dependent Claims (21, 22, 23)
