Abstract
A stent delivery system that includes an inner member and an outer retractable sheath is operated by a handle that permits retraction of the sheath at more than one speed. The sheath may be retracted in small, incremental steps or in a single, more rapid stroke. Means are provided for releasably locking the inner member and outer sheath in a fixed position as well as to facilitate admission of liquid into the device.

25. A stent delivery system, comprising:

a hub coupled to an outer tube; a slider coupled to the hub, the slider disposed over a track fixed to a housing, the slider having a first position corresponding to a distal position of the outer tube constraining a stent, and a second position corresponding to a proximal position of the outer tube releasing the stent, the slider having a portion protruding outside of the housing enabling manual movement of the slider to the second position; and a trigger mounted to the housing, wherein actuation of the trigger incrementally moves the slider along the track. - View Dependent Claims (26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32)

33. A handle for a stent delivery system including an outer sheath covering and constraining a stent in a delivery configuration, the handle comprising:

a housing; a hub coupled to the outer sheath; a slider coupled to the hub, the slider disposed over a track fixed to the housing, the slider having a portion protruding outside of the housing enabling manual advancement of the slider along the track; a pull wire having a first end attached to the slider and a second end coupled to a take-up reel, the take-up reel including a gear having teeth that engage with complementary teeth on a ratchet element; and a trigger mounted to the housing and coupled to the ratchet element, wherein actuation of the trigger incrementally advances the slider along the track.
