Abstract

A light-emitting diode (LED) fluorescent lamp which can replace a typical fluorescent lamp is provided. The LED fluorescent lamp includes an LED array including a plurality of LEDs connected in series; first through fourth connection pins; first through fourth capacitors connected to the first through fourth connection pins, respectively; a first diode having an commonly connected to second ends of the first and third capacitors and a cathode connected to a first end of the LED array; a second diode having an anode connected to a second end of the LED array and a cathode commonly connected to second ends of the second and fourth capacitors. The LED fluorescent lamp can replace a typical fluorescent lamp without a requirement of the installation of additional equipment or the change of wiring.

Claims

1. A light-emitting diode (LED) fluorescent lamp comprising:

a plurality of external connection pins;

an LED array including a plurality of LEDs connected in series; and

one or more capacitors connected between the LED array and the external connection pins and varying the impedance of an electronic fluorescent lamp ballast connected to the LED fluorescent lamp through the external connection pins.

2. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 1, wherein the electronic fluorescent lamp ballast is a half-bridge-type fluorescent lamp ballast.

3. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 1, wherein the external connection pins include first through fourth connection pins.

The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 3, wherein the capacitors include a first capacitor having a first end connected to the first connection pin and a second end connected to an anode terminal of the LED array, a second capacitor having a first end connected to the second connection pin and a second end connected to a cathode terminal of the LED array, a third capacitor having a first end connected to the third connection pin and a second end connected to the anode terminal of the LED array, and a fourth capacitor having a first end connected to the fourth connection pin and a second end connected to the cathode terminal of the LED array.

5. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 4, further comprising at least one of:

a first resistor connected in parallel to the first capacitor;

a second resistor connected in parallel to the second capacitor;

a third resistor connected in parallel to the third capacitor; and

a fourth resistor connected in parallel to the fourth capacitor.

6. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 4, further comprising:

a first diode having an anode connected to the second end of the first capacitor and a cathode connected to the anode terminal of the LED array; and

a second diode having an anode connected to the cathode terminal of the LED array and a cathode connected to the second end of the second capacitor.

7. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 6, further comprising:

a third diode having an anode connected to the first connection pin and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode;

a fourth diode having a cathode connected to the second connection pin and an anode connected to the cathode of the second diode;

a fifth diode having an anode connected to the third connection pin and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode; and

a sixth diode having a cathode connected to the fourth connection pin and an anode connected to the cathode of the second diode.

8. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 1, wherein the LED fluorescent lamp comprises a plurality of LED arrays connected in parallel.

9. An LED fluorescent lamp comprising:

an LED array including a plurality of LEDs connected in series;

first through fourth connection pins;

a first capacitor connected between the first connection pin and a first end of the LED array;

a second capacitor connected between the second connection pin and a second end of the LED array;

a third capacitor connected between the third connection pin and the first end of the LED array; and

a fourth capacitor connected between the fourth connection pin and the second end of the LED array.

10. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 9, further comprising at least one of:

a first diode connected between the first connection pin and the LED array and generating a unidirectional current path in the LED array; and

a second diode connected between the third connection pin and the LED array and generating a unidirectional current path in the LED array.

11. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 9, further comprising:

a third diode connected in parallel to the first capacitor and having an anode connected to the first connection pin;

a fourth diode connected in parallel to the second capacitor and having a cathode connected to the second connection pin;

a fifth diode connected in parallel to the third capacitor and having an anode connected to the third connection pin; and

a sixth diode connected in parallel to the fourth capacitor and having a cathode connected to the fourth connection pin.

12. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 11, farther comprising:

a seventh diode having an anode connected to the anode of the fourth diode and a cathode connected to the first connection pin;

an eighth diode having an anode connected to the second connection pin and a cathode connected to the cathode of the third diode;

a ninth diode having an anode connected to the fourth connection pin and a cathode connected to the cathode of the fifth diode; and

a tenth diode having an anode connected to the anode of the sixth diode and a cathode connected to the third connection pin.

13. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 9, further comprising:

a first resistor connected in parallel to the first capacitor;

a second resistor connected in parallel to the second capacitor;

a third resistor connected in parallel to the third capacitor; and

a fourth resistor connected in parallel to the fourth capacitor.

14. An LED fluorescent lamp comprising:

an LED array including a plurality of LEDs connected in series;

first and second connection pins;

a first capacitor having a first end connected to the first connection pin and a second end connected to a first end of the LED array;

a second capacitor having a first end connected to the second connection pin and a second end connected to a second end of the LED array; and

one or more diodes connected between the first and second connection pins and generating a unidirectional current path in the LED array.

15. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 14, wherein the diodes include a first diode having an anode connected to the second end of the first capacitor and a cathode connected to an anode terminal of the LED array and a second diode having an anode connected to a cathode terminal of the LED array and a cathode connected to the second end of the second capacitor.

16. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 15, further comprising:

third and fourth connection pins;

a third capacitor having a first end connected to the third connection pin and a second end connected to the first end of the LED array; and

a fourth capacitor having a first end connected to the fourth connection pin and a second end connected to the second end of the LED array.

17. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 16, further comprising at least one of:

a third diode having an anode connected to the second end of the first capacitor and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode;

a fourth diode having a cathode connected to the second end of the second capacitor and an anode connected to the cathode of the second diode;

a fifth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the third capacitor and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode; and

a sixth diode having a cathode connected to the second end of the fourth capacitor and an anode connected to the cathode of the second diode.

18. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 17, further comprising:

a seventh diode having an anode connected to the anode of the fourth diode and a cathode connected to the second end of the first capacitor;

an eighth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the second capacitor and a cathode connected to the cathode of the third diode;

a ninth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the fourth capacitor and a cathode connected to the cathode of the fifth diode; and

a tenth diode having an anode connected to the anode of the sixth diode and a cathode connected to the second end of the third capacitor.

19. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 14, wherein the LED fluorescent lamp includes a plurality of LED arrays connected in parallel.

20. An LED fluorescent lamp comprising:

an LED array including a plurality of LEDs connected in series;

first through fourth connection pins;

first through fourth capacitors connected to the first through fourth connection pins, respectively;

a first diode having an anode commonly connected to second ends of the first and third capacitors and a cathode connected to a first end of the LED array;

a second diode having an anode connected to a second end of the LED array and a cathode commonly connected to second ends of the second and fourth capacitors;

a third diode having an anode connected to the cathode of the second diode and a cathode connected to the first end of the LED array; and

a fourth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the LED array and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode.

21. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 20, further comprising:

a fifth diode having an anode connected to the first connection pin and a cathode connected to the second end of the first capacitor;

a sixth diode having an anode connected to the second connection pin and a cathode connected to the second end of the second capacitor;

a seventh diode having an anode connected to the third connection pin and a cathode connected to the second end of the third capacitor; and

an eighth diode having an anode connected to the fourth connection pin and a cathode connected to the second end of the fourth capacitor.

22. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 20, further comprising:

a fifth diode having a cathode connected to the first connection pin and an anode connected to the second end of the first capacitor;

a sixth diode having a cathode connected to the second connection pin and an anode connected to the second end of the second capacitor;

a seventh diode having a cathode connected to the third connection pin and an anode connected to the second end of the third capacitor; and

an eighth diode having a cathode connected to the fourth connection pin and an anode connected to the second end of the fourth capacitor.

23. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 20, wherein the LED fluorescent lamp comprises a plurality of LED arrays connected in parallel.

24. An LED fluorescent lamp comprising:

an LED array including a plurality of LEDs connected in series;

first through fourth connection pins;

first through fourth capacitors connected to the first through fourth connection pins, respectively;

a first diode having a cathode connected to a first end of the LED array;

a second diode having an anode connected to a second end of the LED array;

a third diode having an anode connected to a second end of the first capacitor and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode;

a fourth diode having an anode connected to a cathode of the second diode and a cathode connected to a second end of the second capacitor;

a fifth diode having an anode connected to a second end of the third capacitor and a cathode connected to the anode of the first diode;

a sixth diode having an anode connected to the cathode of the second diode and a cathode connected to a second end of the fourth capacitor;

a seventh diode having an anode connected to the second end of the LED array and a cathode connected to the second end of the first capacitor; and

an eighth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the second capacitor and a cathode connected to the first end of the LED array.

25. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 24, further comprising:

a ninth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the fourth capacitor and a cathode connected to the first end of the LED array; and

a tenth diode having an anode connected to the second end of the LED array and a cathode connected to the second end of the third capacitor.

26. The LED fluorescent lamp of claim 24, wherein the LED fluorescent lamp comprises a plurality of LED arrays connected in parallel.
