1. A method of creating an application that is structured to be executed on a platform, the platform having a feature wherein a menu of selectable functions is output in response to a predetermined input, the method comprising:
- receiving at least a first instruction;
incorporating at least a portion of the at least first instruction into a template instruction set to generate a class of instructions which, when executed on the platform, is structured to cause an additional selectable function that is specified at least in part by the at least first instruction to be output in the menu responsive to the predetermined input; and
compiling the class of instructions to form the at least portion of an application.
