Abstract

The disclosure provides an HVAC data processing and communication network and a method of manufacturing the same. In an embodiment, the method includes configuring a device to store a plurality of character strings. The device is further configured to associate a text ID with each of the character strings. The device is further configured to recall a predetermined character string in response to receiving a first message via the network including a predetermined text ID associated with the predetermined character string. The method includes further configuring the device to send via the network a second message including the predetermined character string.

Claims

1. A method of manufacturing an HVAC data processing and communication network, comprising:

configuring a device to store a plurality of character strings;

further configuring said device to associate a text ID with each of said character strings;

further configuring said device to recall a predetermined character string in response to receiving a first message via said network including a predetermined text ID associated with said predetermined character string; and

further configuring said device to send via said network a second message including said predetermined character string.

2. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said first message includes a language ID, and said device is configured to recall said predetermined character string in response to said text ID and said language ID.

3. The method as recited in claim 1, further comprising configuring a user interface to send said first message, to receive said second message, and to display a first instance of said predetermined character string.

4. The method as recited in claim 3, further comprising configuring said user interface to buffer said predetermined character string and to display a second instance of said predetermined character string by recalling said buffered predetermined character string.

5. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said device is configured to store a first subset of said plurality in a first language, and a second subset of said plurality in a different second language, to recall said predetermined character string from said first subset in response to a first language ID value, and to recall said predetermined character string from said second subset in response to a different second language ID value.

6. The method as recited in claim 1, wherein said predetermined character string is a first predetermined character string in a first language, and said device is further configured to send a third message including a second predetermined character string in a different second language.

7. The method as recited in claim 6, wherein said second message is configured to be read by a first user interface configured to display said first predetermined character string, and said third message is configured to be read by a different second user interface configured to display said second predetermined character string.

8. An HVAC data processing and communication network, comprising:

a system device configured to;

store a plurality of character strings;

associate a text ID with each of said character strings;

recall a predetermined character string in response to receiving a first message via said network including a predetermined text ID associated with said predetermined character string; and

send via said network a second message including said predetermined character string.

9. The network as recited in claim 8, wherein said first message includes a language ID, and said system device is further configured to recall said predetermined character string in response to said text ID and said language ID.

10. The network as recited in claim 8, further comprising a user interface configured to send said first message, to receive said second message, and to display a first instance of said predetermined character string.

11. The network as recited in claim 10, wherein said user interface is further configured to buffer said predetermined character string and to display a second instance of said predetermined character string by recalling said buffered predetermined character string.

12. The network as recited in claim 8, wherein said system device is further configured to store a first subset of said plurality in a first language, and a second subset of said plurality in a different second language, to recall said predetermined character string from said first subset in response to a first language ID value, and to recall said predetermined character string from said second subset in response to a different second language ID value.

13. The network as recited in claim 8, wherein said predetermined character string is a first predetermined character string in a first language, and said system device is further configured to send a third message including a second predetermined character string in a different second language.

14. The network as recited in claim 13, wherein said second message is configured to be read by a first user interface configured to display said first predetermined character string, and said third message is configured to be read by a different second user interface configured to display said second predetermined character string.

15. A local controller to be used in a HVAC data processing and communication network, comprising:

memory configured to store a plurality of character strings; and

a state machine configured to;

associate a text ID with each of said character strings;

recall a predetermined character string in response to receiving a first message via said network including a predetermined text ID associated with said predetermined character string; and

send via said network a second message including said predetermined character string.

16. The local controller as recited in claim 15, wherein said first message includes a language ID, and said local controller is further configured to recall said predetermined character string in response to said text ID and said language ID.

17. The local controller as recited in claim 15, further comprising a user interface configured to send said first message, to receive said second message, and to display a first instance of said predetermined character string.

18. The local controller as recited in claim 17, wherein said user interface is further configured to buffer said predetermined character string and to display a second instance of said predetermined character string by recalling said buffered predetermined character string.

19. The local controller as recited in claim 15, wherein said system device is further configured to store a first subset of said plurality in a first language, and a second subset of said plurality in a different second language, to recall said predetermined character string from said first subset in response to a first language ID value, and to recall said predetermined character string from said second subset in response to a different second language ID value.

20. The local controller as recited in claim 15, wherein said predetermined character string is a first predetermined character string in a first language, and said system device is further configured to send a third message including a second predetermined character string in a different second language.
