1. A targeted marketing offer redemption system operative in conjunction with a computer system of a financial institution to provide a redemption of a targeted marketing offer provided to a consumer via an online banking portal associated with the financial institution, comprising:
- a database for storing (a) transaction data records corresponding to a plurality of financial transactions conducted by the consumer, (b) offer data corresponding to the terms of one or more targeted marketing offers delivered to the consumer during a display of consumer transactions via the online banking portal, (c) offer redemption data corresponding to predetermined targeted marketing offers that have been satisfied by the consumer as reflected by a predetermined redemption qualifying transaction, and (d) reward data corresponding to a predetermined reward provided to the consumer in response to satisfaction of the terms of a predetermined targeted marketing offer;
a component for receiving transaction data records from the financial institution and for storing received transaction data records in the database;
a component for processing the transaction data records in the database to identify whether any transactions of a particular consumer comprise a predetermined redemption qualifying transaction that satisfies the terms of a targeted marketing offer delivered to the particular consumer during said display of consumer transactions via the online banking portal, and for storing offer redemption data in the database indicating that a predetermined targeted marketing offer has been satisfied by the particular consumer; and
a component for accessing the offer redemption data and the reward data and providing the predetermined reward to the particular consumer.

A system and methods for offer realization and redemption in a system involving delivery of targeted marketing offers to consumers during a session with an online (web-based) Internet portal, such as an online banking portal of a financial institution. A database stores transaction data records, offer data corresponding to the terms of a targeted marketing offer delivered to the consumer, offer redemption data corresponding to a predetermined targeted marketing offer that has been satisfied, and reward data corresponding to a predetermined reward provided in response to satisfaction of the terms of the offer. A component processes the transaction data records to identify whether any transactions have satisfied the terms of an offer and stores offer redemption data indicating that the terms of an offer have been satisfied. A component accesses the offer redemption data and the reward data and provides the predetermined reward to the consumer.
