- reacting growing nanoparticles with a nanoparticle surface binding ligand incorporating a nanoparticle binding group and a silicone polymer binding group, said reaction being effected under conditions permitting binding of said surface binding ligand to the growing nanoparticles to produce said surface functionalised nanoparticles.
