1. A method of detecting a thoracic fluid condition in an implantable medical device system, comprising:

  • measuring intrathoracic impedance for a plurality of intrathoracic measurement vectors using a plurality of implanted electrodes;

    computing a map of thoracic conductivity in response to the measured intrathoracic impedances; and

    detecting the thoracic fluid condition in response to the computed map.
