PRODUCT RELIABILITY TRACKING AND NOTIFICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
First Claim
1. A method of tracking product reliability, comprising:
- periodically accessing, at a user-selected periodicity, removal data stored in a product removal database, the removal data associated with a product;
periodically accessing, at the user-selected periodicity, product where-used data stored in a where-used database, the product where-used data associated with at least selected ones of the products for which removal data are stored in the product removal database and representative of where the at least selected ones of the products are used;
periodically accessing, at the user-selected periodicity, time-in-service data stored in an aircraft flight-hours database, the time-in-service data associated with each product for which where-used data are stored in the product where-used database;
executing one or more user-selected algorithms, using at least a portion of the periodically accessed removal data, to determine if a criterion for a user-specified reliability parameter is not met; and
transmitting an alert to a preset destination if it is determined that the criterion for the user-selected reliability parameter is not met.

Abstract
Methods and apparatus are provided for tracking product reliability. A product removal database having removal data stored therein that are associated with one or more products is periodically accessed at a user-specified periodicity. An aircraft flight-hours database having time-in-flight data stored therein that are associated with each product is periodically accessed at the user-specified periodicity. One or more user-selected algorithms are executed, using at least a portion of the periodically accessed removal data, to determine if the criterion for a user-specified reliability parameter is met or not. If it is determined that the criterion for the user-selected reliability parameter is not met, then an alert is transmitted to a preset destination.

21. A method of alerting a user of a potential product reliability issue, the method comprising:
-
periodically determining, at a user-selected periodicity, if removal data that are associated with a product line and are stored in a product removal database include a user-selected keyword; and transmitting an alert to a preset destination if any of the removal data include the user-selected keyword.
