Abstract

Certain embodiments disclosed herein relate to compositions, methods, devices, systems, and products regarding frozen particles. In certain embodiments, the frozen particles include materials at low temperatures. In certain embodiments, the frozen particles provide vehicles for delivery of particular agents. In certain embodiments, the frozen particles are administered to at least one biological tissue.

Claims

1. A fluidic device, comprising:

a support structure at least partially defining at least one compartment; and

at least one frozen piercing implement in fluid communication with the at least one compartment.

2. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement has at least one major dimension of approximately one centimeter or less, approximately one millimeter or less, approximately one micrometer or less, approximately one nanometer, or any value therebetween.

3. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the fluidic device further includes at least one agent.

4. The fluidic device of claim 3, wherein at least one frozen piercing implement of the array device includes at least one agent.

5. The fluidic device of claim 3, wherein the at least one agent includes one or more of a biological remodeling agent, therapeutic agent, adhesive agent, abrasive, explosive material, or reinforcement agent.

6. The fluidic device of claim 3, wherein the at least one agent includes at least one of an anticoagulant, or antimicrobial.

7. The fluidic device of claim 3, wherein the at least one agent includes at least one antigen.

8. The fluidic device of claim 7, wherein the at least one antigen includes at least one allergen.

9. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment includes the at least one agent.

10. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein at least part of the compartment includes at least one frozen composition.

11. The fluidic device of claim 1, further comprising at least one of:

a channel, pump, sensor, injector, actuator, heater, detector, controller, transducer, receiver, cooler, transmitter, circuit, lens, tunablelens, valve, gate, nanoparticle, microparticle, power source, or detection material.

13. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement is integral with one or more of the at least one of:

a channel, pump, sensor, injector, actuator, heater, detector, controller, transducer, receiver, transmitter, circuit, lens, cooler, tunablelens, valve, gate, channel, nanoparticle, microparticle, power source, or detection material.

14. The fluidic device of claim 13, wherein the at least one controller is configured to control the at least one actuator.

18. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement is configured to sense or extract at least one material from at least one substrate.

19. The fluidic device of claim 18, wherein at least one first implement is configured to deliver at least one agent, and at least one second implement is configured to sense or extract at least one material from the at least one substrate.

20. The fluidic device of claim 19, wherein the at least one first implement configured to deliver at least one agent different than the at least one second implement.

21. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment is configured to hold at least one material extracted from at least one substrate.

22. The fluidic device of claim 1, further comprising means for drawing up at least one material from the at least one substrate.

23. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein at least one first implement is in fluid communication with at least one compartment.

25. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the sensor is configured to respond to at least one material collected in the at least one compartment.

26. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment is configured for displacement of at least one fluid as the at least one material is extracted from the at least one substrate.

27. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment is substantially rigid.

28. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment is one compartment is substantially deformable.

29. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment expands as at least one material is extracted.

30. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one compartment is substantially fabricated from one or more of a polymer, metal, ceramic, semiconductor, frozen composition, other material, or composite thereof.

31. The fluidic device of claim 1, further comprising at least one cantilever.

32. The fluidic device of claim 31, wherein the at least one cantilever is integral with the at least one actuator.

37. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement includes at least one inlet port in fluid communication with at least one outlet port.

39. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein at least part of the support structure includes at least one frozen composition.

40. The fluidic device of claim 1, wherein at least part of the support structure includes at least one of a metal, ceramic, polymer, organic or inorganic compound, semiconductor, other material, or composite thereof.

41. A fluidic device, comprising:

at least one frozen piercing implement, and at least one actuator configured to actuate the at least one frozen piercing implement.

43. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement includes at least one agent.

44. The fluidic device of claim 43, wherein the at least one agent includes one or more of a biological remodeling agent, therapeutic agent, adhesive agent, abrasive, explosive material, or reinforcement agent.

45. The fluidic device of claim 43, wherein the at least one agent includes at least one of an anticoagulant, or antimicrobial.

49. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one controller is configured to control the at least one actuator.

50. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement is integral with the at least one actuator.

51. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement is configured to sense or extract at least one material from at least one substrate.

52. The fluidic device of claim 51, further comprising at least one compartment configured to hold at least one material extracted from at least one substrate.

53. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement is in fluid communication with at least one compartment.

56. The fluidic device of claim 41, further comprising at least one compartment configured to hold at least one agent.

57. The fluidic device of claim 56, wherein the at least one frozen piercing implement is in fluid communication with the at least one compartment.

59. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one actuator includes at least one of a piezoelectric actuator, electrostatic actuator, thermal actuator, bioactuator, or magnetic actuator.

60. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the at least one actuator includes at least one microactuator or nanoactuator.

61. The fluidic device of claim 41, wherein the valve includes at least one of a one-way valve, or pressure settable valve.

62. The fluidic device of claim 41, further comprising at least one cantilever.

63. The fluidic device of claim 62, wherein the at least one cantilever is integral with the at least one actuator.

64. The fluidic device of claim 62, further comprising one or more structures configured to support the at least one cantilever.

65. The fluidic device of claim 41, further comprising at least one compartment configured to hold at least one material to form at least one frozen piercing implement.

66. The fluidic device of claim 65, wherein the at least one compartment includes at least one of a controller, microparticle, nanoparticle, lens, tunablelens, sensor, transducer, cooler, actuator, detector, heater, valve, gate, channel, detection material, pump, power source, injector, controller, receiver, transmitter, or circuit.

67. The fluidic device of claim 66, wherein the controller is configured to control fluidic communication between the at least one frozen piercing implement and the compartment.

68. The fluidic device of claim 66, wherein the valve includes at least one of a one-way valve, or pressure settable valve.

71. The fluidic device of claim 41, further comprising a plurality of frozen piercing implements, and at least one actuator configured to actuate the plurality of frozen piercing implements;

wherein each piercing implement has at least one major dimension of approximately one centimeter or less, approximately one millimeter or less, approximately one micrometer or less, approximately one nanometer, or any value therebetween.
