Abstract

A light emitting device having a plastic substrate is capable of preventing the substrate from deterioration with the transmission of oxygen or moisture content can be obtained. The light emitting device has light emitting elements formed between a lamination layer and an inorganic compound layer that transmits visual light, where the lamination layer is constructed of one unit or two or more units, and each unit is a laminated structure of a metal layer and an organic compound layer. Alternatively, the light emitting device has light emitting elements formed between a lamination layer and an inorganic compound layer that transmits visual light, where the lamination layer is to constructed of one unit or two or more units, and each unit is a laminated structure of a metal layer and an organic compound layer, wherein the inorganic compound layer is formed so as to cover the end face of the lamination layer. In the present invention, the lamination layer is formed on the primary surface of the plastic substrate, so that a flexible substrate structure can be obtained while preventing the substrate from deterioration with the transmission of oxygen or moisture content.

Claims

1. A light emitting device comprising:

a flexible substrate;

a first wiring having an angle θ

of a reflection surface of a reflector formed over the flexible substrate;

a light emitting layer formed over the first wiring; and

a second wiring formed over the light emitting layer,

wherein the angle θ

of the reflection surface of the reflector is in the range of about 30°

to 75°

with respect to a principal surface of the flexible substrate.

2. A light emitting device according to claim 1, further comprising a partition wall layer formed over the reflector.

3. A light emitting device according to claim 1, further comprising a lamination layer formed over the flexible substrate, the lamination layer comprising a metal layer and an organic compound layer.

4. A light emitting device according to claim 1, wherein the flexible substrate is one selected from the group consisting of polyether sulphone, polyallylate, polyimide, polyamide, acrylic resin, epoxy resin, polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylenenaphthalate and polycarbonate.

5. A light emitting device comprising:

a flexible substrate;

a first wiring having an angle θ

of a reflection surface of a reflector formed over the flexible substrate;

a light emitting layer formed over the first wiring; and

a second wiring formed over the light emitting layer,

wherein the first wiring is formed as a laminate of a electrode and the reflector.

6. A light emitting device according to claim 5, wherein the angle θ

of the reflection surface of the reflector is in the range of about 30°

to 75°

with respect to a principal surface of the flexible substrate.

7. A light emitting device according to claim 5, wherein the electrode is one selected from the group consisting of indium tin oxide, zinc oxide, indium zinc oxide, titanium nitride, and tungsten nitride.

8. A light emitting device according to claim 5, wherein the electrode is a titanium nitride film of 100 to 500 nm in thickness.

9. A light emitting device according to claim 5, wherein the reflector is made of a metal material having a high reflectivity

10. A light emitting device according to claim 5, wherein the reflector is an aluminum film of 100 to 1000 nm in thickness.

11. A light emitting device according to claim 5, further comprising a partition wall layer formed over the reflector.

12. A light emitting device according to claim 5, further comprising a lamination layer formed over the flexible substrate, the lamination layer comprising a metal layer and an organic compound layer.

13. A light emitting device comprising:

a flexible substrate;

a first wiring having an angle θ

of a reflection surface of a reflector formed over the flexible substrate;

at least one thin film transistor electrically connected to the first wiring;

a light emitting layer formed over the first wiring; and

a second wiring formed over the light emitting layer,

wherein the thin film transistor has an organic semiconductor.

14. A light emitting device according to claim 13, wherein the first wiring is formed as a laminate of a electrode and the reflector.

15. A light emitting device according to claim 13, wherein the organic semiconductor is one selected from the group consisting of polythiophene, poly(3-alkylthiophene), and polythiophene derivative.

16. A light emitting device according to claim 13, wherein the angle θ

of the reflection surface of the reflector is in the range of about 30°

to 75°

with respect to a principal surface of the flexible substrate.

17. A light emitting device according to claim 13, further comprising a partition wall layer formed over the reflector.

18. A light emitting device according to claim 13, further comprising a lamination layer formed over the flexible substrate, the lamination layer comprising a metal layer and an organic compound layer.

19. A light emitting device according to claim 13, wherein the flexible substrate is one selected from the group consisting of polyether sulphone, polyallylate, polyimide, polyamide, acrylic resin, epoxy resin, polyethylene terephthalate, polyethylenenaphthalate and polycarbonate.
