1. A remote control comprising:
- a receiver arranged to receive signals from an original equipment remote control the received signals comprising a learned macro having one or more commands;
a microprocessor electrically coupled to receive the signals from the receiver;
an operator interface in communication with the microprocessor; and
a memory containing stored programming instructions operable by the microprocessor to;
store in the memory the learned macro received from the original equipment remote control;
cause the remote control to enter a macro edit mode, the macro edit mode enabling the learned macro to be modified; and
modify the learned macro by appending an additional command, the additional command comprising a command previously stored in the remote control.

Abstract
A remote control for appending commands into a learned macro routine of commands is provided. A receiver is arranged to receive signals from one or more remote controls, wherein the signals represent one or more commands comprising a macro. The remote control stores the macro in memory and has “learned” the received macro. The learned macro can be modified by appending one or more additional commands into the macro using commands already contained within the remote control.
