Abstract

The claimed subject matter provides for systems, devices, and methods facilitating dynamic scaling of messaging content. Messaging content can include visual content other than the actual textual content of a message body for a messaging environment. In an aspect dynamic scaling of messaging content can allow message content such as pictures, images, emoticons, movies, maps, and the like to be presented to a user in a manner that facilities efficient comprehension of the message content. The tokens can be dynamically scaled as the messaging environment changes to maintain high levels of comprehension.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented system, implemented on a mobile device, that facilitates dynamic scaling of messaging content within a messaging environment, comprising:

a device information component; and

a dynamic content resizing component which at least in part generates at least one token that is a scaled representation of unscaled message content;

wherein message content includes visual content or visual representations of non-visible content of a message, exclusive of message body text information.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the device information component further comprises:

a display information component that facilitates access to information related to display information of the mobile device; and

a focus state indicator that pertains to a current focus state of the messaging environment.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein the dynamic content resizing component dynamically generates the at least one token scaled in response to an indicated change in the focus state of the messaging environment.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the dynamically generated content resizing component token scaling is at least in part based on the available display area of the mobile device designated for display of the messaging environment.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the display of the mobile device designated for display of the messaging environment is the entire display area or a windowed area of the display area.

6. The system of claim 1, further comprising:

a message content component that facilitates access to information related to message content, including at least one of content type, content unscaled footprint, content resolution, content metadata, or combinations thereof.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein dynamic scaling of the at least one token is based at least in part on the information related to message content.

8. The system of claim 1, wherein the messaging environment includes at least one rendering of at least one message, including body text information and the at least one scaled token.

The system of claim 8, wherein the messaging environment includes a plurality of messages wherein at least one of the plurality of messages includes at least one scaled token, and wherein the relative scaling of the at least one scaled token relates to the proximity of the message containing the token to a message that is in a focus state of the messaging environment.

The system of claim 9, wherein the plurality of messages includes a plurality of messages each including at least one scalable token and wherein the relative scaling of each token decreases as a message containing the token is less coherent with a message that is in a focus state of the messaging environment.

11. The system of claim 9, wherein at least one token dynamically scales when the focal state of the messaging environment transitions from a first message to a second message.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein the dynamic scaling of the at least one token is degraded when the focal state transition results in the second message being less coherent to the token and the token scaling is reconstituted when the focal state transition results in the second message being more coherent to the token.

13. The system of claim 11, wherein the magnitude of the dynamic scaling of the at least one token is based at least in part on the rate of change in the focus state of the messaging environment.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the magnitude of the dynamic scaling is lower where the rate of change in the focal state is faster.

15. A method that facilitates dynamic scaling of messaging content within a messaging environment implemented on a mobile device, comprising:

utilizing a first computer to access message content information;

wherein message content includes visual content or visual representations of non-visible content of a message, exclusive of message body text information;

utilizing a second computer to determine a layout for a message of the messaging environment based at least in part on available display area and a focus state of the messaging environment; and

utilizing a third computer to render a message including at least one dynamically scaled token representing an unscaled message content for the messaging environment based at least in part on the determined layout; and

wherein the first, second, and third computers can be the same computer or different computers.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein a level of degradation for the at least one dynamically scaled token is based at least in part on the focus state of the messaging environment.

17. The method of claim 16, wherein the level of degradation dynamically changes as in response to changes in the focus state of the messaging environment.

The method of claim 17, wherein the level of degradation of the at least one dynamically scaled token increases, resulting in at least a dynamically scaled token of decreased scale with regard to the unscaled message content, with decreases in the coherence between the token and the focus state of the messaging environment.

19. The method of claim 17, wherein a dynamically scaled token is a textual token representation of the unscaled message content.

20. A computer-implemented system, embodied in a mobile device, that facilitates dynamic scaling of messaging content within a threaded messaging environment, comprising:

a dynamic content resizing component further including;

a display layout component including focus indicator, that accesses information related to an available display area of a messaging environment for displaying threaded messages, wherein at least one message for display includes a respective message content, wherein message content includes visual content or visual representations of non-visible content of a message, exclusive of message body text information, and an instant focus is indicated by the focus indicator;

a content object degradation component that determines a degradation for a token that is a scaled representation of the respective unscaled message content based at least in part on the instant focus and at least in part on the available display area; and

wherein the dynamic content resizing component, in response to receiving at least one message having a message content, at least in part generates at least one dynamically scaled token of the message content based at least in part on a dynamically determined degradation with regard to dynamic changes in the focus of the messaging environment of the message, such that the scale of the token is smaller as the token is farther from the focus of the messaging environment.

21. A computer-implemented system, implemented on a mobile device, that facilitates dynamic scaling of messaging content within a messaging environment, comprising:

a device information component at least in part indicating a message of the messaging environment as a focal message;

a dynamic content resizing component which at least in part generates at least one token that is a scaled representation of unscaled message content;

wherein message content includes visual content or visual representations of non-visible content of a message, exclusive of message body text information; and

wherein the dynamic content resizing component dynamically generates the at least one token scaled in response to any indicated change in the focus state of the messaging environment while further facilitating a user selectable zoom of a token of an indicated focal message.
