Abstract

Systems (and corresponding methodologies) capable of searching, pre-searching, fetching and pre-fetching multi-media content for inclusion into an SMS (Short Message Service), MMS (Multi-media Message Service), IM (Instant Message) or other message type based upon predictive- and rules-based searching techniques are provided. The systems can predict or infer an in-process message, for example, based upon a portion of the inputted text message. Thereafter, in real- or near real-time, content related to the topic of conversation can be retrieved from a local store, remote stores (e.g., servers) or cloud-based sources. The retrieved content can be incorporated into the SMS, MMS, or IM message as appropriate or desired thereby enhancing the messaging experience.

Claims

1. A system that facilitates message content management, comprising:

a message monitoring component that establishes gist of a message; and

a content suggestion component that retrieves multi-media content based at least in part upon to the gist, wherein the multi-media content is transmitted with the message.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the message is an SMS (Short Message Service) message.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the message is at least one of an MMS (Multi-media Message Service), IM (instant message) or electronic mail (email) message.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein the multi-media content is retrieved from at least one of a local, remote or cloud-based source.

5. The system of claim 1, further comprising an input analysis component that evaluates at least one of a received, sent or in-process message, wherein the gist is established based upon the evaluation.

6. The system of claim 5, further comprising a query generation component that establishes a request for information, wherein the request for information facilitates location of the multi-media content.

7. The system of claim 6, further comprising at least one of a prediction engine, rules engine or inference engine that establishes the gist of the message.

8. The system of claim 6, further comprising a content location component that employs a search engine to process the request for information.

9. The system of claim 6, further comprising a configuration component that one of ranks or filters the multi-media content for presentation to a user.

10. The system of claim 9, further comprising a rendering component that presents at least a subset of the multi-media content to the user.

11. A computer-implemented method of managing messaging content in a mobile device, comprising:

monitoring text entry of a user related to an in-process message; and

dynamically retrieving multi-media content from one of a local, remote or cloud-based source; and

incorporating the multi-media content into the in-process message.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, further comprising predicting substance of the in-process message based upon a portion of the text entry.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 12, further comprising generating a search query, wherein the search query is based upon the predicted substance and employed to retrieve the multi-media content.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, further comprising:

configuring the retrieved multi-media content; and

rendering the configured multi-media content to the user, wherein the user selects a portion of the multi-media content for incorporation into the in-process message.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, further comprising, inferring the substance based at least in part upon one of historical or statistical criteria.

16. A computer-executable system of incorporating multi-media content into a communication message, comprising:

means for monitoring a text input of a message by a user;

means for completing the text input based upon a portion of the text input;

means for determining substance of the text input; and

means for retrieving multi-media content related to the substance of the input.

17. The computer-executable system of claim 16, wherein the means for completing the text input is at least one of a prediction engine, rules engine or inference engine.

18. The computer-executable system of claim 16, further comprising:

means for configuring the multi-media content; and

means for rendering the multi-media content to the user, wherein the user selects a subset of the multi-media content for inclusion into the message.

19. The computer-executable system of claim 16, further comprising means for inferring the substance based at least in part upon historical or statistical criteria.

20. The computer-executable system of claim 16 wherein the message is one of an SMS, MMS, IM or email message, and wherein the multi-media content is at least one of image, video, audio or music data.
