Abstract

A method is provided to process data in a wireless data exchange. The method includes exchanging data between two or more wireless devices in real time and opening a thread of communications between the wireless devices, where the thread includes one or more data exchanges between the wireless devices. When the real time messaging exchange has been established, the method identifies all or portions of the thread as potential data to store. As such data is identified, the method selectively caches the identified portions of the thread for future data retrieval.

Claims

1. A method to process data in a wireless data exchange, comprising:

employing a processor to control data access to a wireless device, comprising;

exchanging data with at least one wireless device in real time;

opening a thread of communications associated with the wireless device, the thread including one or more data exchanges between devices;

identifying all or portions of the thread as potential data to store; and

selectively caching the identified portions of the thread for future data retrieval.

2. The method of claim 1, the portions of the thread are identified, saved, or un-cached via a textual mark or symbol.

3. The method of claim 1, the portions of the thread are identified, saved, or un-cached via a biometric command or gesture.

4. The method of claim 1, the thread includes text data, audio data, video data, image data, or file data.

5. The method of claim 4, the thread includes one or more message segments associated with different users.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising caching a portion of a message segment.

7. The method of claim 5, further comprising caching two or more message segments.

8. The method of claim 1, further comprising storing the identified portions of the thread on a mobile device.

9. The method of claim 1, further comprising storing the identified portions of the thread on a remote server.

10. The method of claim 1, the portions of the thread are automatically identified by a rule or a policy that are predetermined by a user.

11. The method of claim 1, the portions of the thread are automatically determined via a learning component.

12. The method of claim 11, the learning component is associated with one or more classifier components.

13. The method of claim 1, the portions of the thread are automatically determined by a location component.

14. The method of claim 13, the location component is associated with a global positioning system (GPS).

15. A system to cache data for real time message exchanges, comprising:

a wireless device to open a message dialog;

a thread component associated with the dialog, the thread indicates messages from other parties;

a selection component to indicate portions of the messages in the thread; and

a cache component to store the indicated portions of the thread.

16. The system of claim 15, further comprising a policy component to automatically determine one or more threads from which to store.

17. The system of claim 16, the policy component automatically determines a portion of thread to store.

18. The system of claim 15, further comprising a learning component to automatically determine a thread to store.

19. The system of claim 15, the selection component is associated with a symbol or a biometric gesture to indicate one or more threads, or portions of a thread from which to store.

20. A system for real time message exchanges, comprising:

means for initiating a message dialog;

means for conducting a conversation within the message dialog;

means for selecting portions of the conversation in the message dialog; and

means for automatically storing the portions of the conversation.
