Abstract

Compositions, apparatus, systems, kits, and methods for obfuscating the nucleic acid and/or protein content of an environment.

Claims

1. A method comprising:

identifying one or more obfuscating components for one or more target biological material identifiers; and

providing the one or more obfuscating components to an environment.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein identifying one or more obfuscating components for one or more target biological material identifiers comprises:

identifying one or more obfuscating components for one or more target biological material identifiers at least partially based on information associated with the one or more target biological material identifiers.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein information associated with the one or more target biological material identifiers includes the identity of one or more target populations.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the one or more target populations are one or more individuals.

6. The method of claim 4, wherein the one or more target populations are one or more of one or more ethnic groups, one or more demographic groups, or one or more racial groups.

7. The method of claim 4, wherein the one or more target populations are one or more genders.

8. The method of claim 4, wherein the one or more target populations share one or more genetic characteristics.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein one or more of the one or more genetic characteristics are selected from the group consisting of gender, genetic disease, genetic abnormality, chromosomal aberration, determinants of physical characteristics, age, telomere length, and mitochondrial genome.

11. The method of claim 1, wherein providing the one or more obfuscating components to an environment comprises:

providing sequentially the one or more obfuscating components to the environment.

12. The method of claim 1, wherein providing the one or more obfuscating components to an environment comprises:

providing one or more of the one or more obfuscating components to an environment separately.

13. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more obfuscating components are selected from the group consisting of one or more nucleic acid sequence depositing components, one or more nucleic acid degrading components, and one or more protein degrading components.

16. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more target biological material identifiers identify one or more populations, and the one or more populations are one or more of one or more ethnic groups, one or more demographic groups, or one or more racial groups.

17. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more target biological material identifiers identify one or more populations, and the one or more populations are one or more genders.

19. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more target biological material identifiers identify one or more populations, and wherein the one or more populations share one or more of the one or more genetic characteristics selected from the group consisting of gender, genetic disease, genetic abnormality, chromosomal aberration, determinants of physical characteristics, age, telomere length, and mitochondrial genome.

20. A method of obfuscating the identity of one or more target biological material identifiers comprising:

selecting one or more nucleic acid sequences with approximately 25 percent to 99 percent similarity to one or more target nucleic acid sequences; and

providing the one or more nucleic acid sequences to an environment.

24. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

co-localizing the one or more nucleic acid sequences with one or more first carriers, wherein the one or more first carriers are one or more natural carriers.

25. The method of claim 24, wherein one or more of the one or more natural carriers are selected from the group consisting of skin, hair, and saliva.

26. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

co-localizing the one or more nucleic acid sequences with one or more first carriers, wherein one or more of the one or more first carriers are one or more unnatural carriers.

29. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

providing separately a composition including one or more nucleic acid degrading components and one or more second carriers to the environment.

31. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

providing a composition including one or more nucleic acid degrading components and one or more second carriers to the environment

providing separately a composition including one or more protein degrading components and one or more second carriers to the environment, and

providing a composition including the one or more protein degrading components and one or more third carriers to the environment.

33. The method of claim 20, further comprising:

providing a composition including one or more protein degrading components and one or more third carriers to the environment.

34. The method of claim 33, wherein providing a composition including one or more protein degrading components and one or more third carriers to the environment comprises:

providing separately a composition including one or more protein degrading components and one or more third carriers to the environment.

providing one or more nucleic acid sequences to an environment, wherein one or more of the one or more nucleic acid sequences are recombinant.

assembling a first composition including one or more nucleic acid sequences and one or more first carrier components;

the first composition formulated for dispersion, wherein the one or more fist carrier components are one or more natural carrier components.

40. The method of claim 39, wherein the one or more natural carrier components are selected from the group consisting of hair, skin, biological fluids, and biological excretions.

formulating a first composition including one or more nucleic acid sequences and one or more first carrier components for dispersion.

43. The method of claim 42, wherein formulating a first composition including one or more nucleic acid sequences and one or more first carrier components for dispersion comprises:

formulating the first composition including the one or more nucleic acid sequences and the one or more first carrier components for wide-area dispersion.

44. The method of claim 42, wherein formulating a first composition including one or more nucleic acid sequences and one or more first carrier components for dispersion comprises:

formulating the first composition including the one or more nucleic acid sequences and the one or more first carrier components for dispersion from one or more apparatus.

45. A method comprising:

assembling a first composition including one or more nucleic acid depositing components and one or more first carrier components; and

providing the first composition to one or more dispersing apparatus.

46. The method of claim 45, further comprising:

pressurizing the first composition in the one or more dispersing apparatus.

47. The method of claim 45, wherein assembling a first composition including one or more nucleic acid depositing components and one or more first carrier components comprises:

formulating the first composition including the one or more nucleic acid depositing components and the one or more first carrier components as a gel, a cream, an aerosol, a liquid, a powder, or a solid.

48. The method of claim 45, wherein the one or more dispersing apparatus is one or more wide-area dispersing apparatus.

49. The method of claim 48, wherein the wide-area dispersing apparatus is selected from the group consisting of a fogger, a mister, a grenade, and a sprinkler.

50. The method of claim 45, wherein one or more of the one or more nucleic acid depositing components are one or more nucleic acid sequences.

51. The method of claim 50, wherein one or more of the one or more nucleic acid sequences are at least partially purified, isolated or recombinant.

52. The method of claim 45, further comprising:

assembling a second composition including one or more nucleic acid degrading components and one or more second carrier components; and

providing the second composition to the dispersing apparatus.

53. The method of claim 45, further comprising:

assembling a third composition including one or more protein degrading components and one or more third carrier components; and

providing the third composition to the dispersing apparatus.
