Abstract

A system, method and computer readable medium for providing translated web content is disclosed. The method on an information processing system includes retrieving a first content in a first language and parsing the first content into a plurality of translatable components. The method further includes generating a unique identifier for each of the plurality of translatable components of the first content and queuing the plurality of translatable components and corresponding unique identifiers for translation into a second language. The method further includes, for each of the plurality of translatable components, storing a translated component and an associated unique identifier corresponding to the translatable component, thereby storing a plurality of translated components and corresponding unique identifiers.

22. A machine implemented method for managing language translation, comprising the steps of:

accessing from an Internet source, via a publicly available network path, content in a first language;

identifying a portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated into a second language;

scheduling for translation the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated;

translating the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated into a second language using human translation to produce corresponding content in the second language.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein the step of scheduling for translation involves adding into a translation list or queue at least one universal resource locator (URL) containing the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated.

24. The method of claim 22, further comprising storing the corresponding content in the second language.

25. The method of claim 22, wherein the step of translating comprises:

extracting one or more translatable components from the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated; and

translating the one or more translatable components to produce corresponding one or more translated components.

26. The method of claim 25, wherein the one or more translatable components are presented for human translation separately from non-translatable content in the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated.

27. The method of claim 26, wherein the non-translatable content includes at least one of a tag and executable code.

28. The method of claim 25, wherein the one or more translated components are stored.

29. A system for managing language translation, comprising:

a content retrieval mechanism configured for accessing from an Internet source, via a publicly available network path, content in a first language;

a content analysis mechanism coupled with the content retrieval mechanism and configured for identifying a portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated into a second language;

a translation management mechanism coupled with the content analysis mechanism and configured for scheduling for translation the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated;

a web computer aided translation mechanism, connected with the translation management mechanism and configured for facilitating translation of the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated into a second language using human translation to produce corresponding content in the second language.

30. The system of claim 29, wherein the translation management mechanism schedules the translation via adding into a translation list or queue at least one universal resource locator (URL) containing the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated.

31. The system of claim 29, wherein the web computer aided translation mechanism comprises:

a translatable component extraction mechanism configured for extracting one or more translatable components from the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated; and

a translation mechanism configured for obtaining translation for each of the one or more translatable components to produce the corresponding content in the second language.

The system of claim 31, wherein the one or more translatable components, extracted by the translatable component extraction mechanism, are presented to the translation mechanism for human translation separately from non-translatable content in the portion of the content in the first language that is not yet translated.

33. The system of claim 32, wherein the non-translatable content includes at least one of a tag and executable code.

34. The method of claim 31, wherein the translation of each of the one or more translatable components is stored as a corresponding translated component.

35. The system of claim 29, further comprising a translation storage configured for storing the corresponding content in the second language.

36. The system of claim 35, wherein the translation storage stores one or more translated components translated based on the corresponding one or more translatable components.
