Abstract

With the invention, a method and device for explosive forming of work pieces, in which at least one work piece is arranged in at least one die and deformed by means of an explosive to be ignited, is to be improved, in that an ignition mechanism that is technically simple to handle, is produced with the shortest possible setup time, which permits the most precise possible ignition of the explosive with time-repeatable accuracy. This task is solved by a method and device, in which at least one work piece is arranged in at least one die and deformed by means of an explosive to be ignited, in which the explosive is ignited by means of induction.

30. A method for explosive forming comprising:

at least one work piece (5) arranged in at least one die (2) and deformed by means of an explosive (8) to be ignited, wherein the explosive (8) is ignited by means of induction.

31. The method according to claim 30, wherein an induction element (10) is cooled at least temporarily.

32. The method according to claim 31, wherein cooling occurs between successive ignitions.

33. The method according to claim 30, wherein the explosive (8) is ignited at a plurality of ignition sites (39) of a die (2).

34. The method according to claim 30, wherein the explosive (8) is ignited at at least one ignition site (39) of a plurality of dies (2).

35. The method according to claim 30, wherein the explosive (8) is simultaneously ignited at a plurality of ignition sites (39).

36. The method according to claim 30, wherein the explosive (8) is ignited with a time offset at a plurality of ignition sites (39).

37. A device (1) for explosive forming according to the method of claim 30 comprising:

at least one die (2), in which at least one work piece (5) can be arranged, and

an ignition device (10), with which an explosive (8) can be ignited in die (2), wherein the ignition device (10) comprises at least one induction element (10).

38. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) is arranged in a wall (9) of die (2).

39. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) comprises at least one ignition device (11) arranged in an explosion chamber (6) of die (2), in which a voltage can be induced.

40. The device (1) according to claim 39, wherein the ignition device (11) comprises tungsten and/or copper.

41. The device (1) according to claim 39, wherein the ignition device (11) is arranged at least in areas extending into explosion chamber (6).

42. The device (1) according to claim 39, wherein the ignition device (11) is arranged approximately in annular fashion around an explosion chamber (6) of die (2).

43. The device (1) according to claim 39, wherein the ignition device (11) is arranged approximately flush with wall (9) of explosion chamber (6).

44. The device (1) according to claim 39, wherein an inside diameter (26) of ignition device (11) corresponds approximately to an inside diameter (27) of explosion chamber (6).

45. The device (1) according to claim 39, wherein an inside diameter (26) of ignition device (11) is about 20 to 40 mm.

46. The device (1) according to claim 45, wherein an inside diameter (26) of ignition device (11) is about 25 to 35 mm.

47. The device (1) according to claim 46, wherein an inside diameter (26) of ignition device (11) is about 30 mm.

48. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) comprises at least one coil arrangement (12) for inducing a voltage in an ignition device (11), which is arranged outside of the explosion chamber (6) of die (2).

49. The device (1) according to claim 48, wherein the coil arrangement (12) is arranged on an area (16) of an ignition finger (13) lying outside of die (2).

50. The device (1) according to claim 48, wherein the coil arrangement (12) is arranged in approximately annular fashion around an explosion space (6) of die (2).

51. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) comprises an insulator (19, 21, 31) that insulates the ignition device (11) relative to die (2).

52. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) comprises an insulator (17, 21, 31) that insulates the coil arrangement (12) relative to die (2).

53. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) comprises a cooling device (43) for cooling at least one of the ignition device (11) and the coil arrangement (12).

54. The device (1) according to claim 53, wherein the cooling device (43) comprises water as coolant.

55. The device (1) according to claim 53, wherein the cooling device (43) comprises nitrogen as coolant.

56. The device (1) according to claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) is arranged with at least one seal (20) in die (2), which seals the explosion chamber (6) relative to the surroundings.

57. The device (1) according to claim 56, wherein the seal (20) comprises copper.

58. The device (1) according to at claim 37, wherein the induction element (10) comprises at least one heating point (28).

59. The device (1) according to claim 58, wherein the heating point (28) extends into explosion chamber (6).

60. The device (1) according to claim 58, wherein the heating point (28) is arranged approximately flush with wall (9) of explosion chamber (6).
