Abstract

A method of receiving and processing a broadcast signal including a Non-Real Time (NRT) service and a broadcast receiver are disclosed herein. A method of processing a Non-Real Time (NRT) service in a broadcast receiver, the method comprises receiving and processing first signaling information including content access information and second signaling information including content detail information, receiving and processing third signaling information including content update information, receiving and storing a content including at least one file through NRT based on the first signaling information and the second signaling information, identifying update availability of the content based on the content update information included in the third signaling information, and receiving at least one file included in the content by accessing a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session transmitting the content when the update is available.

Claims

1. A method of processing a Non-Real Time (NRT) service in a broadcast receiver, the method comprising:

receiving and processing signaling information including content detail information and content update information;

receiving a content including at least one file through NRT and storing the received content in a storage media;

identifying update availability of the content based on the content update information included in the signaling information; and

receiving at least one file included in the content by accessing a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session transmitting the content when the update is available.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the content update information includes a first field identifying a content version number of the content in the signaling information and a second field indicating the content version number according to a value of the first field.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein identifying update availability identifies the update availability of the content by comparing the content version number indicated in the second field with a previous content version number of the content.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the first field indicates whether the content version number is included or not depending on an update cycle of the content

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the content update information includes a third field indicating whether the content is an updatable content.

6. A method of processing a Non-Real Time (NRT) service in a broadcast receiver, the method comprising:

receiving and processing first signaling information including content access information and second signaling information including content detail information;

receiving and processing third signaling information including content update information;

receiving and storing a content including at least one file through NRT based on the first signaling information and the second signaling information;

identifying update availability of the content based on the content update information included in the third signaling information; and

receiving at least one file included in the content by accessing a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session transmitting the content when the update is available.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein access information of the first signaling information, the second signaling information and the third signaling information have a same predetermined Internet Protocol (IP) address and a same User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port number.

The method of claim 6, wherein access information of the first signaling information and the second signaling information have a same predetermined Internet Protocol (IP) address and a same User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port number, and access information of the third signaling information is included in the first signaling information.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein the content update information includes a first field indicating identification information of the content and a second field indicating a content version number of the content.

10. The method of claim 9, wherein identifying update availability identifies the update availability of the content by comparing the content version number indicated in the second field with a previous content version number of the content.

11. The method of claim 9, wherein the second signaling information includes a third field indicating whether the content is an updatable content.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the content update information is included in the third signaling information depending on the third field value and a content update cycle of the content.

13. The method of claim 9, wherein the content version number changes when at least one file included in the content is added, deleted, or updated.

14. A broadcast receiver for receiving a Non-Real Time (NRT) service, the broadcast receiver comprising:

a first processor for receiving and processing first signaling information including content access information, second signaling information including content detail information, and third signaling information including content update information;

a second processor for receiving a content including at least one file through NRT based on the first signaling information and the second signaling information and storing the received content in a storage media; and

a third processor for identifying update availability of the content based on the content update information included in the third signaling information and receiving at least one file included in the content by accessing a File Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (FLUTE) session transmitting the content when the update is available.

15. The broadcast receiver of claim 14, wherein access information of the first, second and third signaling information have a same predetermined Internet Protocol (IP) address and same User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port number.

The broadcast receiver of claim 14, wherein access information of the first and second signaling information have a same predetermined Internet Protocol (IP) address and same User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port number, and access information of the third signaling information is included in the first signaling information.

17. The broadcast receiver of claim 14, wherein the content update information includes a first field indicating identification information of the content and a second field indicating a content version number of the content.

18. The broadcast receiver of claim 17, wherein the third processor identifies the update availability of the content by comparing the content version number indicated in the second field with a previous content version number of the content.

19. The broadcast receiver of claim 17, wherein the second signaling information includes a third field indicating whether the content is an updatable content.

20. The broadcast receiver of claim 19, wherein the content update information is included in the third signaling information depending on the third field value and a content update cycle of the content.
