Abstract

A system for swappable battery pack for electric vehicle is disclosed. Each battery pack units is comprising a battery compartment housing, a battery carrier rack which is slidable within the battery compartment housing via at least one linear actuator. The battery carrier rack also contains a plurality of modulated battery packs nested into its docking enclosures. In order to transfer or swap the modulated battery packs, the slidable battery carrier rack must projects out from its compartment in predetermined direction and distance and then the nested modulated battery packs can easily be detached from its docking enclosures.

Claims

1. A swappable modulated battery pack system for an electric vehicle comprising:

a battery compartment housing, said battery compartment housing is affixed to vehicle'"'"'s frame structure;

a battery carrier rack, said battery carrier rack is slidable within said battery compartment housing via at least one linear actuator, said battery carrier rack is extendable in linear direction and project out in predetermined displacement away from said battery compartment housing;

at least one docking enclosure, said docking enclosure is placed and secured within said battery carrier rack, said docking enclosure is fully opened at one end and on other end is partially open, said docking enclosure has a receptacle connector inside at said partially open end; and

,

at least one detachable modulated battery pack, said modulated battery pack has plug in type connectors at each end, said modulated battery pack is attachably dock into said docking enclosure from its open end and said modulated battery pack plugs into said docking enclosure'"'"'s receptacle at the end to provide power supply to said electric vehicle, said detachable modulated battery pack is transferrable for exchanging proposes when said battery carrier rack is in extended position.

2. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said battery compartment housing, further includes linear tracks for said battery carrier rack.

3. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said a battery carrier rack, further may include a separate main receptacle connector for charging said modulated battery packs.

4. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of rollers inside said docking enclosures at its bottom side.

5. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of guided tracks inside said docking enclosures top and side panels for means to guide said modulated battery pack.

6. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of spring-loaded rollers inside said docking enclosures top and side panels for means to secure said modulated battery pack.

7. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said docking enclosure has a receptacle connector, said receptacle connector is a blind mate type connector to easily plug into said modulated battery pack.

8. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said detachable modulated battery pack, further includes indentation on its case for proper positioning with respect to said docking enclosure rollers.

9. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said detachable modulated battery pack further includes charging monitoring circuitry.

10. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 1, wherein said detachable modulated battery pack can have an energy indicator on its frontal case.

11. A swappable modulated battery pack system for an electric vehicle comprising:

a battery compartment housing, said battery compartment housing is affixed to vehicle'"'"'s frame structure;

a battery carrier rack, said battery carrier rack is slidable within said battery compartment housing via at least one linear actuator, said battery carrier rack is extendable in linear direction and project out in predetermined displacement away from said battery compartment housing;

at least one docking enclosure, said docking enclosure is placed and secured within said battery carrier rack, said docking enclosure is fully opened at both ends, said docking enclosure has a contact terminals inside at its top and side panels; and

at least one detachable modulated battery pack, said modulated battery pack has contact terminals, said modulated battery pack is attachably dock into said docking enclosure from either ends and said modulated battery pack terminals contacts connects to said docking enclosure'"'"'s terminal contacts to provide power supply to said electric vehicle, said detachable modulated battery pack is transferrable for exchanging proposes when said battery carrier rack is in extended position.

12. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 11, wherein said battery compartment housing, further includes linear tracks for said battery carrier rack.

13. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 11, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of rollers inside said docking enclosures at its bottom side.

14. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 11, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of guided tracks inside said docking enclosures top and side panels for means to guide said modulated battery pack.

15. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 11, wherein said a battery carrier rack, further may include a separate main receptacle connector for charging said modulated battery packs.

16. A swappable modulated battery pack system for an electric vehicle comprising:

a battery compartment housing, said battery compartment housing is affixed to vehicle'"'"'s frame structure;

a battery carrier rack, said battery carrier rack is slidable within said battery compartment housing via at least one linear actuator, said battery carrier rack is extendable in linear direction and project out in predetermined displacement away from said battery compartment housing;

at least one docking enclosure, said docking enclosure is placed and secured within said battery carrier rack, said docking enclosure is fully opened at one end and on other end is fully closed, said docking enclosure has a receptacle connector inside at said fully closed end; and

at least one detachable modulated battery pack, said modulated battery pack has plug in type connectors at one end, said modulated battery pack is attachably dock into said docking enclosure from its open end and said modulated battery pack plugs into said docking enclosure'"'"'s receptacle to provide power supply to said electric vehicle, said detachable modulated battery pack is transferrable for exchanging proposes when said battery carrier rack is in extended position.

17. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 16, wherein said battery compartment housing, further includes linear tracks for said battery carrier rack.

18. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 16, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of rollers inside said docking enclosures at its bottom side.

19. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 16, wherein said at least one docking enclosure, further includes a set of guided tracks inside said docking enclosures top and side panels for means to guide said modulated battery pack.

20. A swappable modulated battery pack system according to claim 16, wherein said a battery carrier rack, further may include a separate main receptacle connector for charging said modulated battery packs.
