Abstract
Media metadata is transported within closed caption data associated with the media intended to be presented as a sequence of media frames. A tag is associated with interactive content and the tag is inserted into the closed caption data. The tag is concealed from displaying by using destructive characters. On presenting the media, the closed caption data associated with the media is decoded and the tag is detected in the closed caption data. The destructive characters prevent the tag from being displayed for any discernable period of time.
