Abstract

The invention is directed to a system, a method and a computer program including program code for carrying out the method, when executed on a processing system, of estimating a tire pressure deviation of a vehicle'"'"'s tire (2). The system comprises an input section (100) adapted to receive as an input signal a vehicle signal, a calculation section (200) adapted to calculate at least one shape factor of a resonance peak associated with the vehicle signal spectrum (2) on the basis of the input signal, and a determination section (300) adapted to derive, depending on said at least one shape factor, a tire pressure signal indicative of a tire pressure deviation within the vehicle'"'"'s tire (2).

20. A method of estimating a tire pressure deviation of a vehicle'"'"'s tire (2), comprising:

receiving as an input signal a vehicle signal;

calculating at least one shape factor (H;

determining, depending on said at least one shape factor (H;

wherein the calculating step comprises calculating the at least one shape factor (H;

ANL) on the basis of at least one parameter derived from a parametric model adopted to the vehicle signal time domain which is capable of modelling the resonance peak within the vehicle signal spectrum.

21. The method according to claim 20, wherein the vehicle signal is a wheel speed sensor (5) signal indicative of the wheel speed of the vehicle'"'"'s tire (2).

22. The method according to claim 20, wherein the shape factor (H;

ANL) comprises at least one of the following elements;

the height (H) of the resonance peak,

the width (W) of the resonance peak,

the slope (S) of the peak on at least one of the rising and falling edges of the resonance peak,

the height (HNL) of the resonance peak in relation to the noise floor level,

the integral (I) of the resonance peak, and

the area (ANL) under the peak down to the noise floor level.

The method according to claim 20, further comprising calculating the spectrum of the input signal and extracting of at least one multidimensional feature from the spectrum thus calculated, wherein the determining step comprises determining the tire pressure signal on the basis of the at least one shape factor (H;

ANL) and the at least one multidimensional feature.

24. The method according to claim 23, wherein the extraction step comprises extracting a plurality of multidimensional features belonging to a plurality of different predetermined frequency bands of the spectrum.

25. The method according to claim 20, wherein the tire pressure signal is also determined on the basis of a tire pressure signal derived from a roll-radium relative approach.

26. The method according to claim 20, wherein the tire pressure signal is also determined on the basis of at least one further vehicle signal being associated with a further vehicle'"'"'s tire.

27. A system of estimating a tire pressure deviation of a vehicle'"'"'s tire (2), comprising:

an input section (100) adapted to receive as an input signal a vehicle signal;

a calculation section (200) adapted to calculate at least one shape factor (H;

ANL) of a resonance peak associated with the vehicle signal spectrum (2) on the basis of the input signal; and

a determination section (300) adapted to derive, depending on said at least one shape factor (H;

wherein the calculation section (200) is adapted to calculate the at least one shape factor (H;

The system according to claim 29, which further comprises an extraction section (250) adapted to calculate the spectrum of the input signal and to extract at least one multidimensional feature from the spectrum, wherein the determination section (300) is adapted to determine the tire pressure signal on the basis of the at least one shape factor (H;

ANL) and the at least one multidimensional feature.

31. The system according to claim 30, wherein the extraction section (250) is adapted to extract a plurality of multidimensional features belonging to a plurality of different predetermined frequency bands of the spectrum.

32. The system according to claim 27, wherein the determination section (300) is further adapted to determine the tire pressure signal on the basis of a tire pressure signal input from a roll-radius determination system adopting a relative approach.

33. The system according to claim 27, wherein the determination section is further adapted to determine the tire pressure signal on the basis of at least one further vehicle signal being associated with a further vehicle'"'"'s tire.

34. A computer program including program code for carrying out a method, when executed on a processing system, of estimating a tire pressure of a vehicle'"'"'s tire (2), the method comprising:

receiving as an input signal a vehicle signal;
