Abstract

A system and method for streaming a lottery game is described. The system includes a lottery ticket, a gaming server, a paytable, a video server, a network access device, an encryption module, and IP address associated with the network access device. The lottery ticket has a first plurality of numbers. The gaming server is configured to generate a second plurality of numbers with a random number generator. The paytable includes an award that is based on a comparison of the first plurality of numbers to the second plurality of numbers. The video server stores a plurality of images associated with the award. The network access device is configured to present the lottery. The encryption module configured to encrypt communications between the gaming server and the network access device. The IP address associated with the network access device enables secure communications with the gaming server.

21. A system for streaming a lottery game, comprising:

a lottery ticket having a first plurality of numbers;

a gaming server configured to generate a second plurality of numbers with a random number generator;

a paytable including an award, the award based on a comparison of the first plurality of numbers to the second plurality of numbers;

a video server storing a plurality of images associated with the award;

a network access device configured to present the lottery game, the network access device further configured to receive the plurality of images;

an encryption module configured to encrypt communications between the gaming server and the network access device; and

an IP address associated with the network access device enables secure communications with the gaming server.

22. The system of claim 21, further comprising a transactional server configured to perform player tracking.

23. The system of claim 22, wherein the network access device is a wireless device.

24. The system of claim 23, wherein the network access device is a gaming terminal.

25. The system of claim 24, wherein the network access device is a set-top box.

26. The system of claim 22, further comprising a first network access device that is a wireless device and a second network access device that is a slot machine, wherein the first and second network access devices communicate with the gaming server and the video server.

27. The system of claim 26, wherein a plurality of players are grouped according to an award associated with a same image, and a broadcast stream for the image is broadcast to each player in the group.

28. The system of claim 21, further comprising a MAC identifier associated with the network access device that enables secure communications with the gaming server.

29. A system for streaming a lottery game, comprising:

a first means for displaying a first plurality of numbers;

a gaming server configured to generate a second plurality of numbers with a random number generator;

a paytable including an award, the award based on a comparison of the first plurality of numbers to the second plurality of numbers;

a second means for storing a plurality of images associated with the award;

a network access device configured to present the lottery game, the network access device further configured to receive the plurality of images;

an encryption module configured to encrypt communications between the gaming server and the network access device;

an IP address associated with the network access device enables secure communications with the gaming server.

30. The system of claim 29, further comprising a transactional server configured to perform player tracking.

31. The system of claim 30, wherein the network access device is a wireless device.

32. The system of claim 31, wherein the network access device is a gaming terminal.

33. The system of claim 32, wherein the network access device is a set-top box.

34. The system of claim 29, further comprising a first network access device that is a wireless device and a second network access device that is a slot machine, wherein the first and second network access devices communicate with the gaming server and the video server.

35. The system of claim 34, wherein a plurality of players are grouped according to an award associated with a same image, and a broadcast stream for the image is broadcast to each player in the group.

36. The system of claim 29, further comprising a MAC identifier associated with the network access device that enables secure communications with the gaming server.

37. A method for streaming a lottery game, comprising:

generating a lottery ticket having a first plurality of numbers, the lottery ticket associated with a player;

generating a second plurality of numbers with a random number generator, the random number generator resident on a gaming server;

comparing the first plurality of numbers to the second plurality of numbers and associating an award with one or more matching numbers based on information contained in a paytable;

storing a plurality of images associated with the award on a video server;

receiving the plurality of images with a network access device that is configured to present the lottery game;

encrypting communications between the gaming server and the network access device;

securing communications with the gaming server by way of an IP address associated with the network access device.

38. The method of claim 37, further comprising performing player tracking on a transactional server.

39. The method of claim 38, further comprising streaming a first plurality of images from the video server to a first network access device that is a wireless device and streaming a second plurality of images to a second network access device that is a slot machine.

40. The method of claim 39, further comprising grouping a plurality of players according to a same image associated with an award, and broadcasting a stream of images to each player in the group.
