Abstract
A device having a surface on which an intravenous administration set is organized and temporarily retained in a desired configuration to prevent undesirable tangling during setup of the set. The device further includes a plurality of clips to retain various components of the intravenous administration set in a desired orientation to improve priming of the components. The intravenous administration set is released from the device by pulling a terminal end of the set in a direction away from the device.

11. A method for manufacturing a self-priming IV administration set, comprising:
-
providing an organizing surface on which to support a first portion of the self-priming IV administration set; organizing the self-priming IV administration set in a desired configuration; temporarily coupling a second portion of the self-priming IV administration set to the organizing surface in the desired configuration, via a retaining mechanism; and orienting a third portion of the self-priming IV administration set to a desired orientation to enable priming of the self-priming IV administration set. - View Dependent Claims (12, 13, 14, 15, 16)

17. A device for packaging an IV administration set in a desired configuration to enable self-priming, the device comprising:
-
a retaining mechanism having a retaining surface for compatibly receiving a portion of the IV administration set to temporarily constrain a component of the IV administration set in a desired orientation; and a packaging material substantially containing the IV administration set in the desired configuration, wherein the desired configuration and desired orientation optimize the position of the IV administration set to enable self-priming of the IV administration set. - View Dependent Claims (18, 19, 20)
