Abstract

Provided are wireless communication method and apparatus. The wireless communication method includes: receiving wireless communication module information of a second terminal from the second terminal through a first communicator of a first terminal; and performing a wireless communication with the second terminal using the wireless communication module information through a second communicator of the first terminal.

Claims

1. A wireless communication method performed by a first terminal, comprising:

receiving wireless communication module information of a second terminal from the second terminal through a first communication unit; and

performing a wireless communication with the second terminal through a second communication unit using the wireless communication module information.

2. The wireless communication method of claim 1, wherein the wireless communication module information is received from the second terminal when the second terminal is touched with the first terminal.

3. The wireless communication method of claim 2, wherein the wireless communication module information is received from the second terminal when the second terminal is positioned within a predetermined distance from the first terminal.

4. The wireless communication method of claim 3, further comprising:

if a plurality of terminals are positioned within the predetermined distance from the first terminal, receiving a user selection of the second terminal from the plurality of terminals.

5. The wireless communication method of claim 4, further comprising displaying information about the plurality of terminals positioned within the predetermined distance from the first terminal.

6. The wireless communication method of claim 2, further comprising displaying a message indicating that a terminal with which the first terminal is to perform a wireless communication, is to be touched with the first terminal or to be positioned within a predetermined distance from the first terminal.

The wireless communication method of claim 1, wherein the wireless communication module information is received using one or more of wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro) internet, wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

The wireless communication method of claim 1, wherein the wireless communication module information comprises information indicating wireless communication methods supported by the second terminal and information for starting wireless communication connections according to the supported wireless communication methods.

The wireless communication method of claim 1, wherein the first terminal performs the wireless communication with the second terminal using one or more of wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro), wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

10. The wireless communication method of claim 1, further comprising searching for a wireless communication method which can be performed between the first and the second terminals, using the wireless communication module information of the second terminal.

11. The wireless communication method of claim 10, further comprising:

if a plurality of wireless communication methods are searched, selecting one of the plurality of wireless communication methods or receiving one of the plurality of wireless communication methods selected by a user.

12. The wireless communication method of claim 11, further comprising displaying information about the plurality of wireless communication methods.

13. The wireless communication method of claim 1, wherein the performance of the wireless communication with the second terminal comprises requesting the second terminal to approve the wireless communication using the wireless communication module information.

14. The wireless communication method of claim 13, wherein the performance of the wireless communication with the second terminal comprises receiving approval of the wireless communication from the second terminal to perform the wireless communication with the second terminal in response to the requesting the second terminal to approve the wireless communication.

15. A first terminal performing a wireless communication, comprising:

a first communication unit which receives wireless communication module information of a second terminal from the second terminal; and

a second communication unit which performs the wireless communication with the second terminal using the wireless communication module information.

16. The first terminal of claim 15, wherein the first communication unit receives the wireless communication module information from the second terminal when the second terminal is touched with the first terminal.

17. The first terminal of claim 15, wherein the first communication unit receives the wireless communication module information from the second terminal when the second terminal is positioned within a predetermined distance from the first terminal.

18. The first terminal of claim 17, further comprising a user interface which, if a plurality of terminals are positioned within the predetermined distance from the first terminal, receives a user selection of the second terminal from the plurality of terminals.

19. The first terminal of claim 18, further comprising a display unit which displays information about the plurality of terminals positioned within the predetermined distance from the first terminal.

20. The first terminal of claim 16, further comprising a display unit which displays a message indicating that a terminal with which the first terminal is to perform the wireless communication is to be touched with the first terminal or to be positioned within the predetermined distance from the first terminal.

21. The first terminal of claim 15, wherein the first communication unit receives the wireless communication module information using one or more wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro), wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

The first terminal of claim 15, wherein the wireless communication module information includes information indicating wireless communication methods supported by the second terminal and information for starting wireless communication connections according to the supported wireless communication methods.

23. The first terminal of claim 15, wherein the second communication unit performs the wireless communication with the second terminal using one or more wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro), wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

24. The first terminal of claim 15, further comprising a controller which searches for a wireless communication method which can be performed between the first and the second terminals, using the wireless communication module information of the second terminal.

25. The first terminal of claim 24, wherein if the controller searches for a plurality of wireless communication methods which can be performed between the first and the second terminals, the controller selects one of the plurality of wireless communication methods.

26. The first terminal of claim 25, further comprising a display unit which displays information about the plurality of wireless communication methods.

27. The first terminal of claim 24, further comprising a user interface which if a plurality of wireless communication methods are searched, receive a one of the plurality of wireless communication methods selected by a user.

28. The first terminal of claim 27, further comprising a display unit which displays information about the plurality of wireless communication methods.

29. The first terminal of claim 15, wherein the second communication unit requests the second terminal to approve the wireless communication using the wireless communication module information.

30. The first terminal of claim 29, wherein the second communication unit receives approval of the request for the wireless communication from the second terminal in response to the second communication unit requesting the second terminal to approve the wireless communication and performs the wireless communication with the second terminal.

31. A wireless communication method performed by a first terminal, comprising:

transmitting wireless communication module information of the first terminal to a second terminal through a first communication unit;

receiving a request for an approval of the wireless communication through a second communication unit, from the second terminal using the wireless communication module information of the first terminal; and

approving the request for the approval of the wireless communication through the second communication unit to perform the wireless communication with the second terminal.

32. The wireless communication method of claim 31, wherein the wireless communication module information is transmitted to the second terminal when the second terminal is touched with the first terminal.

33. The wireless communication method of claim 31, wherein the wireless communication module information is transmitted to the second terminal when the second terminal is positioned within a predetermined distance from the first terminal.

34. The wireless communication method of claim 31, wherein the wireless communication module information is transmitted using one or more wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro), wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

35. The wireless communication method of claim 31, wherein the wireless communication module information comprises information indicating wireless communication methods supported by the first terminal and information for starting wireless communications according to the supported wireless communication methods.

36. The wireless communication method of claim 31, wherein the first terminal performs the wireless communication with the second terminal using one or more wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro), wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

37. A first terminal performing a wireless communication, comprising:

a first communication unit which transmits wireless communication module information of the first terminal to a second terminal; and

a second communication unit which receives a request for an approval of the wireless communication from the second terminal, using the wireless communication module information of the first terminal, and performs the wireless communication with the second terminal.

38. The first terminal of claim 37, wherein the first communication unit transmits the wireless communication module information to the second terminal when the second terminal is touched with the first terminal.

39. The first terminal of claim 37, wherein the first communication unit transmits the wireless communication module information to the second terminal when the second terminal is positioned within a predetermined distance from the first terminal.

40. The first terminal of claim 37, wherein the first communication unit transmits the wireless communication module information using one or more wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband WiBro, wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.

41. The first terminal of claim 37, wherein the wireless communication module information comprises information indicating wireless communication methods supported by the first terminal and information for starting wireless communication connections according to the supported wireless communication methods.

42. The terminal of claim 37, wherein the second communication unit performs the wireless communication with the second terminal using one or more wireless communication methods including wireless local area network (WLAN), Bluetooth, Zigbee, wireless broadband (WiBro), wireless universal serial bus (WUSB), radio frequency identification (RFID), and infrared data association (IrDA) technologies.
