First Claim
1. In a first communication device, a method of determining information related to a particular event based on information obtained by a second communication device associated with the particular event, the method comprising:
- receiving, by the first communication device and from a motion detector of the second communication device, movement information for the second communication device;
receiving, by the first communication device and from a sound receiving portion of the second communication device, an ambient sound related to the particular event;
determining, by a processor of the first communication device, a position of the second communication device;
correlating, by the processor of the first communication device, the movement information and the ambient sound to the particular event; and
determining, by the processor of the first communication device, a location of the particular event.

8. A method of correlating motion information associated with a number of communication devices connected via a network, the method comprising:

receiving, from a motion detector of a first one of the number of communication devices, motion information associated with the first communication device; identifying, based on the motion information, a particular motion pattern; comparing the particular motion pattern to other motion patterns identified based on other motion information received from other ones of the number of communication devices; and determining those of the number of the communication devices corresponding to substantially the particular motion pattern.

9. A method of providing information about a number of communication devices receiving a particular type of ambient sound, the communication device including a sound receiving portion and a transceiver portion, the method comprising:

receiving ambient sound by the sound receiving portion, identifying the sound, comparing the identified sound to sound received from other devices, and compiling number of devices receiving same type of ambient sound.

10. A method of providing information about a device including a motion detector, a sound receiving portion, and a positioning portion, the method comprising:

detecting movement of the device by the motion detector; detecting ambient sound received by the sound receiving portion; detecting a position of the device; and providing, via a network, the movement, the ambient sound, and the position to a remote device.
