Abstract

A system and method may include receiving information about a movement of a device from a motion detector of the device, receiving information about ambient sound of the device from a sound receiving portion of the device, receiving information about position of the device, corresponding the movement to a particular type of movement that is distinguished from any and/or all other types of possible movements, corresponding the ambient sound to a specific sound, relating the specific movement and the specific sound to a particular event, and providing a location of the event to a user.

Claims

1. In a first communication device, a method of determining information related to a particular event based on information obtained by a second communication device associated with the particular event, the method comprising:

receiving, by the first communication device and from a motion detector of the second communication device, movement information for the second communication device;

receiving, by the first communication device and from a sound receiving portion of the second communication device, an ambient sound related to the particular event;

determining, by a processor of the first communication device, a position of the second communication device;

correlating, by the processor of the first communication device, the movement information and the ambient sound to the particular event; and

determining, by the processor of the first communication device, a location of the particular event.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising receiving information indicative of the position of the second communication device from a positioning portion of the second communication device.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying the ambient sound and relating the identified sound to a particular type of music selected from a plurality of different types of music.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising identifying the movement as a dancing movement and not as another type of movement.

5. The method of claim 4, further comprising identifying the ambient sound and relating the identified sound to a particular type of music.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising presenting the position of the event using a graphic representation of the location.

7. The method of claim 1, where the receiving movement information and the receiving the ambient sound comprises receiving via a communication network.

8. A method of correlating motion information associated with a number of communication devices connected via a network, the method comprising:

receiving, from a motion detector of a first one of the number of communication devices, motion information associated with the first communication device;

identifying, based on the motion information, a particular motion pattern;

comparing the particular motion pattern to other motion patterns identified based on other motion information received from other ones of the number of communication devices; and

determining those of the number of the communication devices corresponding to substantially the particular motion pattern.

9. A method of providing information about a number of communication devices receiving a particular type of ambient sound, the communication device including a sound receiving portion and a transceiver portion, the method comprising:

receiving ambient sound by the sound receiving portion,

identifying the sound,

comparing the identified sound to sound received from other devices, and

compiling number of devices receiving same type of ambient sound.

10. A method of providing information about a device including a motion detector, a sound receiving portion, and a positioning portion, the method comprising:

detecting movement of the device by the motion detector;

detecting ambient sound received by the sound receiving portion;

detecting a position of the device; and

providing, via a network, the movement, the ambient sound, and the position to a remote device.

11. A wireless communication device comprising a communication portion, a processing unit, a memory unit, a motion detecting sensor and a microphone, wherein said processing unit is configured to receive data from said motion detecting sensor and signal from said microphone, process said sound signal and data from said motion detecting sensor, and provide result of processing to an arrangement for compiling said information relatable to an event.

12. The wireless communication device of claim 11, further comprising a positioning portion to provide a position of the communication device to the arrangement.

13. The wireless communication device of claim 12, further comprising a GPS (global positioning system) unit.

14. A wireless communication device including a communication portion, a processing unit, a memory unit, a motion detecting sensor, a positioning portion, and a microphone, the processing unit being configured to:

receive data from the motion detecting sensor;

receive a signal corresponding to ambient sound received by the microphone;

determine a geographic location of the device; and

provide a type of the motion, a type of the ambient sound, and the geographic location to an arrangement for determining information related to a particular event.

15. A computer in a communication network for compiling and providing information related to a particular event, the computer including a processor being configured to:

receive motion data from a communication device;

receive sound data related to an ambient sound at the device;

receive position data about a current location of the device; and

use the motion data, the sound data, and the position data to identify the particular event as being in a vicinity of the communication device.

16. The computer of claim 15, where the processor is further configured to relate the motion data to a particular motion comprising at least one of dancing, exercising, or performing a sporting activity.

17. The computer of claim 15, where the processor is further configured to identify the ambient sound.

18. The computer of claim 15, where the processor is further configured to output, via a communication network, the identified particular event as graphical information associated with a map accessible.

19. The computer of claim 18, where the graphical information further includes identifiers associated with a number of communication devices present at the identified particular event.

20. A computer memory device that stores computer-executable instructions, the computer-readable memory device comprising:

one or more instructions to receive, from a motion detector of a communication device, motion information indicative of movement of the communication device;

one or more instructions to receive, from a sound receiving portion of the communication device, sound information indicative of ambient sound at the communication device;

one or more instructions to receive positioning information indicative of a location of the communication device;

one or more instructions to identify a particular movement based on the motion information;

one or more instructions to identify a particular sound based on the sound information;

one or more instructions to identify the particular event based on the particular movement and the particular sound; and

one or more instructions to provide, via a network, a location of the event.
