1. A method of transmitting user metadata about a non-anonymous user of a TV-Anytime service from a client of the TV-Anytime service to a service agent of the TV-Anytime service, the method comprising:

  • a) defining a simple object access protocol (SOAP) operation which transmits the user metadata from the client to the service agent, and is capable of confirming at the service agent transmission of the user metadata;

    b) at the service agent, identifying the non-anonymous user;

    c) at the client, loading the user metadata of the identified non-anonymous user on an element of the SOAP operation defined at operation a), and transmitting the element of the SOAP operation with the user metadata to the service agent, the element of the SOAP operation including a request of the non-anonymous user to change user information about the user stored at the service agent;

    d) at the service agent, identifying the element of the SOAP operation transmitted at operation c), and extracting the user metadata included in the element of the SOAP operation therefrom; and

    e) at the service agent, changing the user information about the user.
