Abstract

A lamp includes an outer shell having heat conductivity, a base provided in the outer shell, and a cover provided in the outer shell. The outer shell has a light source support, and a heat radiating surface exposed to the outside of the outer shell. The light source support is formed integral with the heat radiating surface. A light source is supported on the light source support. The light source is heated during lighting, and thermally connected to the light source support. The light source is covered with the cover.

Claims

1. A lamp comprising:

an outer shell with heat conductivity which includes a light source support, and a heat radiating surface exposed to the outside of the outer shell, and the light source support formed integrally with the heat radiating surface;

a base which is provided in the outer shell;

a board on which a heat generating light source is mounted, the board being fixed to the light source support through a screw and being thermally connected to the light source support so as to conduct heat generated by the light source to the light source support; and

a translucent cover which is provided in the outer shell so as to cover the light source.

2. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the board has a first surface on which the light source is mounted, and a second surface which is positioned on the opposite side of the first surface, and the second surface is covered with a thermal diffusion layer.

3. The lamp of claim 2, wherein the screw is screwed into the light source support penetrating the board, and the thermal diffusion layer is interposed between the board and the light source support.

4. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the outer shell has a receptacle provided inside the heat radiating surface, and the receptacle contains a lighting circuit to light the light source.

5. The lamp of claim 4, wherein the receptacle is covered by an electrical insulating layer.

6. The lamp of claim 5, wherein the outer shell has an end wall partitioning the light source support and the receptacle, and a heat shielding gap is provided between the end wall and the electrical insulating layer.

The lamp of claim 1, wherein the outer shell has a recession surrounding the light source support, the translucent cover has an edge portion to fit in the recession, the edge portion of the translucent cover is fixed to the recession through an adhesive filled in the recession, and the recession filled with the adhesive is displaced from the light source to the opposite side of the translucent cover.

8. The lamp of claim 7, wherein the light source support includes a projection projecting from the recession to the translucent cover, the projection has a distal end surface exposed to the inside of the translucent cover, and light source is provided on the distal end surface.

9. The lamp of claim 1, wherein the light source includes a plurality of light-emitting diodes.

10. The lamp of claim 9, wherein the screw is positioned in the center of the board and is surrounded by the light-emitting diodes.
