Abstract

The invention relates to a laminated decorative plate comprising a core made of a fiber or particle material, a resinous intermediate layer on at least one side of the core, a decorative layer not impregnated with resin and having a graphic image of the surface of the imitated material, and a transparent core layer, into which the relief-like reproduction of the surface structure of the imitated material is stamped. The intermediate layer is made of liquid glue, curable by pressure and/or heat, that is applied to the core.

Claims

1. Laminated decorative plate comprising a core made of a fiber or particle material, a resinous intermediate layer on at least one side of the core, a decorative layer not impregnated with resin and having a graphic image of the surface of an imitated material, and a transparent cover layer, into which a relief-like reproduction of the surface structure of the imitated material is stamped, characterized in that the intermediate layer is made of liquid glue applied to the core and curable by pressure and/or heat.

2. Plate according to claim 1, characterized in that the glue is urea formaldehyde glue.

3. Plate according to claim 1, characterized in that the cover layer is free from cellulose.

4. Plate according to claim 3, characterized in that the cover layer consists of PVC, melamine resin or acrylic lacquer.

5. Plate according to claim 1, characterized in that the decorative layer is printed paper.

6. Plate according to claims 1, characterized in that the core consists of a high density fiber material (HDF).

7. Plate according to claim 1, characterized in that it has a decorative layer and a cover layer on its one side and a counteracting layer on its other side.

8. Method for producing a laminated decorative plate according to claim 1, comprising the steps of:

a) providing a plate made of a fiber or particle material,

b) coating the plate on at least one side with liquid glue curable by pressure and/or heat,

c) pressing a decorative layer not impregnated with resin onto the layer of glue,

d) applying a thermoplastic material or liquid cover layer material to the decorative layer,

e) pressing and heating the laminated structure thus formed while forming the surface structure of the cover layer.

9. Method according to claim 8, characterized in that it further comprises the step of

f) applying a counteracting layer to the other side of the core if the decorative layer and the cover layer are present only on one side of the core.

10. Method according to claim 8, characterized in that steps a) to c) and where necessary step f) are performed simultaneously as a lamination process and under pressure.

11. Method according to claim 10, characterized in that the steps d) and e) are performed in a short-cycle press or in a continuous double belt press using liquid melamine formaldehyde resin as a material for the cover layer.

12. Method according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that steps a) to c) and where necessary step f) are performed under the application of pressure and using melamine formaldehyde resin as a glue.

13. Method according to claim 12, characterized in that steps d) and e) are performed in a short-cycle press or in a continuous double belt press using liquid melamine formaldehyde resin as a material for the cover layer.
